Because we faced the New England Patriots of the 90's in the 49ers, we were more than prepared to take on the Buffalo Bills, and proceeded to destroy them in the Super Bowl. Please, give us the toughest schedule.

Facing the niners had nothing to do with us beating the bills. We were just the better team.

Were you upset when we didn't have to face the niners in 95 championship game? I wasn't lol. They were the best team in football that year. They had kicked the **** out of us in the 94 championship game and kicked the **** out of is even worst in the regular season. We got to the super bowl that year mostly because GB snuck a win out in SF and kept us from having to go to SF and play them. That super bowl still counted and no one remembers the path we took to get there outside Cowboy fan base.

At the end of the day the path doesn't mean anything If you get there and win it. So why not want the easy path.

The point I'm making is if we have to play the Falcons or Packers or giants then we have to figure out a way to beat them.

I would love for them to play Detroit instead in two weeks but it's not going to happen

I agree with you. But people still hope and wish lol. Wanting the easy path doesn't affect the game or who we play. Not wanting to play a certain team doesnt mean people think we'll lose. Just means we think it will be tougher than another team. I think we'll win regardless who it is but I prefer it be Detroit in the 1st game lol. I'd feel better leading up to the game. Its all about my feelings lol.

So... in your opinion:

1. Do the Giants have our number? Dak's number?
2. Do you see Dak having learned enough and executing enough to exersize this demon so very early in his career?
3. Or do you think Dak will stayed confused at the Giants?

1. Our number? No. Dak's...maybe, at least at this point.
2. I don't have any evidence to suggest he has at this point, but there's no way to know until/unless they play again. It hasn't been that long, and Tampa/Detroit aren't the same kind of defenses.
3. It's definitely possible. I certainly hope he doesn't if we play them in the playoffs.

There is nothing handed to you because everyone is fighting for the SB trophy. So it;s not supposed to be a easy path to the SB because these are the best teams in the conference. So having said that I am irritated by a lot of you saying you don't want to play Atlanta, GB, Giants, and the seahawks. Since when is a playoff game supposed to be easy? This is the time of the year to determine who are the best teams and if we can't beat any of those teams then that means we are not as good as our record says we are.

And let's say they played two weak teams in January and made the SB? How the hell would that help them if they played the Pats and was never in any type of battle????

So the playoffs are not supposed to be easy and I am shocked a lot of yall don't realize that.

I agree. In the 90's the Cowboys had to play the 49ers a SB caliber team as well as the Packers who were loaded with talent just as well and would end up winning a SB with many of those players. You don't worry about who you play, you expect the team to go out and play to their ability and if the Cowboys do that they will be sitting in the SB. No one handed Dallas the #1 seed they got it because they went out earned it and to get to the SB you got to earn it.

Not winning jack for 20+ years will do this to a fan base.

I'd like to play the toughest teams in the playoffs.

If the Cowboys could win a SB by playing the lowest possible seed in every game they played, I would not care. If we got Detroit and Giants, then Miami, I wouldn't cry in the least.

Dallas almost lost to the Skins in Washington. Dallas lost to the Giants twice. Before you make another post, understand what the phrase " Any Given Sunday" means, especially in regards to the playoffs.

Almost doesn't count. If it did, we could say we "almost" beat the Giants in week one

Nothing wrong with talk about who you would ideally like to play. We got nothing better to do for the next 14 days

All very good points, but teams match up to other teams in different ways. As fans, we want to see a team in the playoffs with matchups the Cowboys can exploit.

The Giants and Seahawks have great defenses but can't score consistently. That means Dallas can get by with a so-so defensive game as long as the offense is clicking.

The Packers on the other hand are scorching hot offensively. That means the Cowboys' defense will be very taxed unless the offense can dominate time of possession and jump out to an early lead.

It's all subjective. Like you said, all the playoff teams are good, and it won't be easy. I just wouldn't mind if it were....easier.
We beat Rodgers already. He is the same Rodgers. Not scared.

Are you scolding everyone for having an opinion about who they want to play.
What about freedom of opinions in the posting world rules. Lol.
This is just my opinion of course.
Everyone feel free to agree or disagree, but I don't need to tell you that either...lol...

As the number 1 seed it shouldn't matter who we play

I'm tired of this drivel.

People/teams have preferences for who they play. It's not supposed to be easy, but everyone wants the path of least resistance. The path that offers the greatest chance of getting to the Superbowl.

Football is a game of matchups. Some teams match up better against others. To not have preferences is kind of silly.
Amen.

Who around here has been saying we will coast through the playoffs? From what I have seen, many of us have the justified confidence that our Boys will take their regular season moxie right into the playoffs and make it very difficult for any opponent.
