A Minor Comparison

Again, facts. Unbiased, documented facts.

New Orleans won the SB last year

Every team Wade Phillips has ever coached finished the year in the top 6 in most penalties per game. In Dallas, his teams have finished 2nd, 1st and 3rd. No coach in NFL history has a higher penalty per season stat than Wade does in his right full years as a head coach.

If you disagree with my opinion fine, but you cannot disagree with the facts

Sean Payton lost due to a lack of talent. His teams never had the penalties and attitude that Wade's teams do.

Payton also doesnt have a lifelong history of failure for multiple franchises

Wade just doesnt coach discipline. The numbers speak for themselves.
But for the grace of a Brett Favre INT Sean Payton has never done squat.

Where does this mentality come from that someone deserves a pass? The NFL has never had such soft headed notions. Here's a little fact for you Tom Coughlin is on a hot seat this year for his job. He doesn't get a pass because he won a Super Bowl 3 seasons ago. He has a talented team that has under achieved.

The fact of the matter about Sean Payton is exactly what I said, his defending Super Bowl champion team that is considered an offensive juggernaut everywhere, scored 14 points and put up lesser stats than our team of wretched refuse by listening to some of you. If Barron doesn't hold on that last play does Garrett or Wade get a pass?

That is light in the loafers. It's football. Some of you should start acting like you understand that. It would be a pleasant change.

They shouldnt, but you and I both know they would have. ESPECIALLY from the media. And that is part of the problem. Wade always does just enough to stick around

1st game of the season.

I love how you miss the obvious.

I'm not talking about a pass from Jerry. Wade's here. Get used to it already.

You now admit wins means a partial pass, and losses means chaos...here's the clincher...for the Dallas Cowboys. I'm sorry but the Saints looked awful Thursday night in their own house. Yet Sean Payton gets a pass because they won the Super Bowl last year.

Last year doesn't matter. This year does and it is one game. Anyone balanced on the ledge is a fool.

Congrats. You finally got the point.
I didn't say I agreed with it, you're contradicting what you said earlier.

You pointed out no one should be concerned basically because, it's the 1st game of the season. But then you're pointing out that the Saints only scored 14 points and they're an offensive juggernaut. But like you said, 1st game of the season, so which is it?

The reason why it's different for the Cowboys is that we've yet to taste real success. This is something I posted about a few posts back. If your football enjoyment is nothing but casual and the occasional playoff win is fine for you, then that's great. But don't be surprised if other people don't feel the exact same.

Your lid is snapped on too tight.

Are the Saints, Vikings, Colts, Jets, etc. in dire trouble this year and resorting to old bad habits? Or has only one game gone by and the panic is overblown?

If the latter why is it any different for this team?

Honestly, how hard is that to grasp?

There's also another fact that Payton used to be on our staff.
No, he was on a previous staff. He never served under Wade Phillips.

You're once again assuming what's good for everyone else should be good for the Cowboys.

Jet fans have a right to be upset. Been forever since they've tasted some real success. I haven't checked to see if this is the case but I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Teams like the Colts have no reason to be. We all know that Indy will be a contender. The Saints JUST won the Superbowl. Their fans can throttle back a bit because they know what their team is capable of.

What do we know our team is capable of? Winning the east? Should we be happy with that? Yeah, maybe if we'd atleast tasted something more than a playoff game or two in the past what, 14 years or so?

Once again going back to what I said.. not everyone gets the same amount of enjoyment out of simply watching the game as you do. Is that a tragedy? Perhaps, we should all try and enjoy the game for what it is. But the fact of the matter is, it's simply not the case. Some people invest a lot of time and energy into their team and simply don't wish to stand for 2nd best. It might be an idealist attitude and that's not to say that you cannot be a devoted fan and just enjoy the ride for what it is. What I AM saying is, don't be surprised when people get a bit elated over things you see as trivial.

Ah, so there are double standards and they are good double standards.

Ridiculous.

Your conversing with a guy who has over 86000 posts on a message board.
I hardly think he just likes watching the game. He has vested time in this team. He's just sick of crazy opinions and is vocal about it.

I don't support the crazy ideas. Cut the whole team? Please.

Just tired of accepting 2nd best because someone else out there may of matched us in yards or points but have had a heck of a lot more success than this franchise has had lately. And I know he's devoted. I respect everything Hostile says, I just don't agree with everything he says. It's like there are 4 kinds of fans here. Homers (From what I see, tons of these) Realists (Few of these) Chicken Littles (Quite a few) The 4th and final group is the group that says they're realists but they're not. They want change and firings after every little thing that happens.
