A Myth About our Running Game

You mix up team stats and personal ones to make a point.
I provided both individual and team stats quite deliberately. If people get that mixed up in their head...I can't help.

Dominant rushing teams can run the ball when its needed. I think we are able to do that and showed it this season.

We've had times where we haven't been able to run. That's obscured by our recent winning streak. As I said in my OP...we are a good running team. But not a great one.

Most teams gain more than 5 yards on a 2nd and 10 run? I don't believe that.

I can't even imagine following the game like you do. As if it's some mathematical formula. Where 5 yard runs go into the "unsuccessful" category equal to 1 yard runs apparently.

What football fan can possibly think a RB averaging 5 yards a carry in that situation is an unsuccessful player? It's silly. Put the calculator down.

If you can't swim into the deep end of the pool, don't hate on swimmers.

You clearly are having a difficult time here. The success of a PLAY is different than the success of a PLAYER. Percy is conveying a measurement of successful situational football.

We are a better one when you have other aspects of the offense producing. Cowboys are looking to have balance in their attack not solely run it or pass it but to be able to be effective in both to keep defense off balance

I'm with all of this but the Draft is the way to go to get next tackle in here.

Premium tackles go in the first round. We don't have that after the Cooper trade.

If a good developmental tackle is available at some point, I can see drafting there.

Also there is this: Unlike other positions where youth reigns supreme, o-lineman generally peak later in their careers. So using FA for o-lineman makes much more sense than it does for receivers, backs and def players.

who cares hes top 3 back every year and is in fact Elite as he should be being the top 4 pick in the draft..YPC is skewed by how many times you carry the ball.. its fact like basket ball you shoot 10-15 3s at 48% clip looks good but the guy shooting 40 with a 38% clip is in fact abetter shooter...same thing in all sports...
Kinda' like hitting a m-t beer can at 10' on the first shot with a N.I.B. .38 SNUBBIE,,,AND ,,, never pulling the trigger on that Roscoe again,,, HuH,ol' Buddy?

I think this is Zeke’s best year because the sledding isn’t nearly as easy this season with the OL injury concerns.

He’s having to grind for all his yards this season, which is why I also believe the whole “ we should have drafted Ramsey because a second round RB would be a better use of draft assets behind this line” philosophy is dead.

This running attack this year doesn’t happen without a HOF talent at RB.
