Congrats Ethiostar!!! One thing that really help my wife and myself when we had our girl a few years ago was discuss a feeding schedule ahead of time. That is if you use formula or pumped milk and you will do some of the feeding.
Nothing is worse than having an argument over who feeds next, especially when your son is actually crying for food and you and your spouse are really tired.
My wife and I agreed that I would stay up and do the 11:00-midnight feeding while she sleeps and she would do the 3:00-4:00 feeding. That way I could get 5-6 hours of continuous sleep and she got about 6-7 hours of total sleep.
The other thing is never dilute formula if you use it, this is common when some people run low of formula. Go out and get a new can. Newborns can become anemic really quick and that gets bad (ER visit). Ask your doctor before you start to give straight water to your son, infants will sometimes spit it up.
The weird black meconium (I'm sure you know what that is by now) will end soon I promise.
