At the start of this year, I was hoping we would have started Toney, Golladay, and WanDale Robinson against your secondary.

instead, you got Shepard (didn’t expect him back so soon from ACL), Richie (not bad), and Sills (who is he?)

Maybe next time you will get the three guys I named with healthy bodies and minds.
No no no no. We prefer Richie James and Sills please!

First off….CONGRATULATIONS on a great well played win last night.

I was so looking forward to beating your Boys, but i have to admit, the better team won. Your boys played great on both sides of the ball. I knew your defense was very good, but I didn’t expect 24 pressures and 5-6 sacks on my QB. Your DC prepared your boys well and they responded.

Your offense did something the first two teams we played were unable to do- to not make Wink Martindale’s reputation even bigger. I mean no sacks….come on now! SMH

Cooper was great and even I smiled when CeeDee caught that TD to make up for the drop. Redemption is sweet.

But what really impressed me was after we scored to go up 13-6, your boys next two drives were TDs of 75 and 90 yards. That really was impressive, especially in a loud hostile territory.

Having said all of this….I was very proud of my Daniel Jones for hanging in there and busting his gut to make plays, extend drives, and lead an offense despite having no protection from the big guys up front (save Thomas) and the worst set of WRs in the NFL. I mean who is scared to cover guys named Richie, Sills, No separation Golladay, and Shepard, although the latter plays hard. But his drop/fumble at the end did hurt. I don’t know if Jones will be our QB in 2023, but at least for last night, I was very proud of him and glad to see him wearing Giant Blue…..errrrrr, Giant White last night.

Lastly, I apologize for the two obvious PIs on my boys that were not called. I had nothing to do with those. Enjoy the day and the week as you prepare to slaughter Wentz and Co. If you don’t mind, I may hang here this week just for some football talk….I always avoid hanging with my boys when the Giants lose. It’s not fun for me!

Really appreciate the post so will offer my nearly useless 12-month plan for the Giants were I the GM.
1. Extend DJones. Offer him a long-term deal for lower end starter money. 5 years 100M. 40M GTD.
2. Develop Evan Neal same as they have Andrew Thomas.
3. Cut Kenny Golladay. He's a progress stopper and likely attitude issue at this point.
4. Extend Barkley or trade him. Special player and potentially a difference maker for a SB contender with a plus OL. But hate purgatory with a player like that. Losing him for say a 2024 R5 comp pick would suck but you def do not want to pay 15M a year plus as you've been bad with him.
5. Keep giving Wink those versatile pieces. Safeties that can cover or blitz or tackle the ball carrier.
6. Hire someone to run the pro draft. Asst GM or whatever you want to call him to pay him a fortune but I need much better draft results. Maybe a Recruiting Coordinator for someone like Bama or OSU. Someone who has chased the top HS athletes for the last 5 years and knows them before and during college.

I think you are directly responsible for the no call PIs and I do not accept your apology. You knew exactly what you were doing! :p

Giants have to do a better job drafting offensive linemen, that line is terrible for the capital they put into it and unless that's fixed first, I don't know how the Giants can make a determination on Daniel Jones as a starting Quarterback...

Evan Neal may need to move inside, his lateral ability is highly suspect, or it could be speed of NFL he is not mentally prepared for.

Just does not play as explosively like the freak he was touted to be.

Lol you are a funny dude. And a class act. Really thought Danny and the Giants were going to run away with this one last night in the 2nd half. I don't know how much longer Cooper's success will last, but I will enjoy it til the last drop.

Welcome back my friend,to the show that never ends, we're so glad you could attend, come inside, come inside..nice post, and btw,I wish our qbs could run like Danny, dude was ballin.

I wish Danny didn’t have to run so much, but when you have 3 mediocre receivers who can’t get open, I guess he’d rather take his chances running for the first down rather than throw it up and risk a turnover.

no doubt, Neal got schooled big time last night…it was ugly….but I don’t think anyone can give up on him being a good tackle yet. He’s only played 3 games and he wasn’t that bad in weeks 1 and 2. I expect he will learn his trade and grow from his mistakes. He is highly committed, unlike Kadarius Toney. Besides, we possibly have two decent OL guys returning from IR soon who may be able to help in the middle. We definitely need another tackle to compliment Thomas. And don’t forget, Andrew Thomas stunk his first year too.

The Giants fought hard last night and it ended up being a pretty entertaining game! If you guys had another receiver or two I have a feeling you would have pulled that one out.

I've always wondered this, but is there not a good Giants forum out there so you created an account here to chat with fans of a divisional opponent? I've always wondered if other fanbases have sites like this still since the age of online forums is coming to an end and this seems like one of the final bastions for NFL discussion forums outside of Reddit and Twitter. Every time I try and find a discussion forum for another NFL team I never seem to be able to find any that are as alive as CowboysZone. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place though.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with us. Legitimate question for you: How do you guys view Jones? Is he the franchise QB you guys have been hoping he is? Do you see upside in his future? Do you see your receiving corps holding him back?

It doesn’t appear that he is getting a ton of help on offense other than Barclay.

One more question: What are your views on your offensive line as a whole and especially your high draft choice rookie?

Wow, a lot to unpackage here…so without further adieu…

The Giants message board I frequent is pretty much like this board in regards to Dak. Some want him gone and some feel he hasn’t been given a fair deck of cards to play with and thus we all need more patience and Jones needs a better supporting cast. I’m in the latter camp.

Many guys are skeptical that Jones can be a top 10 QB, much like your Dak…rather just another guy. Again, I don’t know yet.

The easier question concerns our OL and WR groups.

Everyone wants Golladay shipped off to Buffalo now. Many are fed up with Toney’s lack of commitment and fragile body. Many think we won’t be seeing Shepard anymore seeing that he is done for the year- won’t be back next year. So, yes, we are all concerned with our WR pool. Hopefully Wan’Dale Robinson returns from injury soon and shines like a 2nd round draft pick should. Richie is decent enough. We definitely need for Toney to rise up and be the man he was in last year’s first Cowboys game. Without Toney, we are pathetic to mediocre.

Most guys are not down on Neal (yet) because we know he is a rookie and like Andrew Thomas, it takes time to learn how to play tackle in the nfl. If we get Nick Gates, C, and Shane Lemieux, LG, back soon, this could stabilize the middle of our line. Glowinski, RG, seems decent enough, and Thomas, LT, is great. Feliciano, C and Bredeson, LG, have both been more bad than good. We have a big dude we drafted who is a monster blocking for the run, but so far, not so good in pass protection. 4th round pick Ezeudu is his name.

so there you gave it….the good, bad, and ugly.

Much like this site, the Giants forum is very negative and bloodthirsty after a loss. I stay away after losses because it’s incessant redundancy….same things being said by the same people who highjack every thread to make their point….that to me serves no useful purpose. I don’t need that…. so coming here after a Cowboys win is better than being there after a Giants loss.

I came away very impressed with Jones, who was asked to do the impossible. They terrorized that dude all night, and he kept responding.

My biggest disclaimer heading into the game was his wheels. He made us pay for our aggression quite a few times.

I think you have a good qb, who has been put in terrible spots for far too long.

Based on what you wrote here….are you available for hire? You definitely sound like you know your stuff. Please send your resume to Joe Schoen, GM, MetLife, Hackensack, NJ.

After much thought, I think Jones won’t be re-signed and Daboll will draft someone who he can mold, much like he did with Josh Allen. Maybe he thinks Jones is damaged goods with all that he has had to endure for 4 years.

classy post, and Jones really tried hard, he put it on himself to get the game on even keel , scrambling , taking hits .
Get him some help , otherwise he wont last the season.

of course those non-hold/ PI calls kept the game much closer, but Daniel did try.

That too OT pick did NOT look good at all…he got beat like a rented mule and he was a top draft pick. Not good.
Ironically, we also picked a OT but about 20 picks later and he looked fantastic.

Nice post. Thanks for the kudos and the class!
I was afraid of the Giants this game. Jones just kept scrambling and hitting passes, but ran out of real estate.
He needs some good receivers.
