Adam, Yes, you're right, it was Boldin. But at the same time I did post this about Fitzgerald and many disagreed. It was a 1st and a 3rd not a 1st and 2nd but still people disagreed. I mixed the two up. What makes that worse is I suggested giving up less and many still disagreed. I just remember it being frustrating because thats an obvious slam dunk trade you should take and there was negativity over never to give up draft picks, regardless. After seeing what happen to Fitzgerald this season it made me want to say are those draft picks still more important than him? I wasnt gloating, I just wanted to see if people still had the same opinion now.

When the Fitzgerald trade talk came up last offseason and it appeared Arizona wasnt going to be able to pay him, I said I would give up 1st-2nd this year and Patrick Crayton (because they needed an NFL body to fill in for him). All I heard back was are you freaking insane????? Thats way too much. Crayton is a valuable slot guy we can not afford to lose him and draft picks are way more valuable. I came back and stated my case that Fitzgerald is only 23(at the time) and has been in the league for 3 seasons I beileve. I said what rookie is going to come in here and produce like Fitzgerald. On top of that hes only 23, an age in which most players are rookies. I hear back no-no-no draft picks are too valuable. It really made me mad because I would had taken Fitzgerald over any two players in this upcoming draft and I dont care if its the first and second pick. People in here are in love with the thought of draft picks and theres nothing wrong with that, but when you get a chance at a bonfide best player at his poistion whose only 23 there should be no debate. Its where do I sign. The draft has too many Bobbie Carpetners in it, the chance of screwing up are good. Fitz was a sure thing.

Would anyone like to change their mind here???? I know everyone didnt say this but many did.

What does this matter? Arizona wasnt going to trade him for that. They wouldnt have traded him for anyting IMO.

I can sit here and say trading 1st in 2010 and 2nd rd pick 2009 plus Alan Ball for Ed Reed is a great deal, it doesnt mean Baltimore is going to do it.

Link?

I've looked, and I've found nothing about you suggesting that trade or anyone disagreeing with it.

FWIW, I'm hereby suggesting Dallas should hypothetically sign Albert Haynesworth to play nosetackle. Sign Asomugha to replace Henry. Trade for Adrian Peterson to be our running back. Trade for Joe Thomas to play left tackle.

Go on ... dispute me. I'll bring it up next offseason and make you look bad.

Horrible moves. Dallas is better off keeping their draft picks.

Adam, go under members list and hit my name. There it will give you the option to look at all posts started by me. Its on page 2 I beileve. The majority against are on pages 2-5. Point im trying to make with this thread was we all knew the season Fitzgerald was going to have but it baffles me why some people would still rather keep two draft picks and cap space if given the option. That makes me mad because in the draft arent we looking for Larry Fitzgeralds? If someone might be offering why not give up a couple of picks for the best player at his position whose only 24.

Just a hypotheical would you take Larry Fitzgerald and have our number 1 pick this year or Felix Jones, Mike Jenkins, Roy Williams with no first and 3rd pick in 09. I know we have other picks in round 3.
