A post to get away from Lee - how does Dallas stop SF?

Key is to stop the run of SF meaning both the RB and Kap. 9ers do not throw the ball that much, last season they and Seattle threw the fewest passes of any team out there. 9ers use the run to set up the pass to stop them to keep them in poor down and distance is a big key to success. Yes i know it is a passing league someone go tell that to the 9ers and seahawks, they don't seem to know this.

Lock Harbaugh up somewhere because Jason isn't out coaching him.

The only chance they have is stopping the run. I don't think our defense will be very good again but that's why they play the games.

Hopefully its 100 degrees outside, the roof is open and the 9ers wilt in the 4th qtr.
I think our O will give us a chance against anyone.

I think you focus on the run game and make Kap beat you with his arm. I am still not convinced he is a stud QB. Contain him and the run game and make him force the pass.

You make him throw the ball and you make him throw to the ball on the "left" side of the field. A majority of his passes are always to the right side of the field. He is clearly not good at playing the entire field when it comes to passing the ball.

I bet our defense comes out and has a smash mouth performance ... just like last year(6 turnovers). I remember after the opener against the Giants, a lot of people were raving about our defense and how they've turned the corner .... then reality hit. :(

49ers corners do not scare me, their running game could be scary since they have so many backs to throw out there. Boldin great receiver but seems to have gotten really slow, Crab does not to be that explosive. Stevie worries me matched up against our 3rd corner, and Davis is scary since the middle of our defense is coverage deficient. I almost think we will go in running a nickel def and cover Davis with a corner the whole game.

Bowman and Smith do not appear that they will be playing. That is a huge blow and something the people crying like we have no chance without Sean Lee should consider. They have a very good defense but missing two of your top 5 players has to hurt.

That means a few things to me. First it will be much easier to pass protect Tony Romo. Second there will be someone with much less experience and range dropping into underneath coverage. Finally there will be more running room up front.

On defense I have no clue what to be able to expect. First priority needs to be stopping Gore with only the front 7 and not letting big plays get behind them. Force them to execute and try to get off the field on third down.

The first games have been great over the past 2 seasons, this should be too.

I think it will be a good game. Both teams have some strengths and weaknesses. Dallas can compete and should score some points….I'd like to see them play some balanced football with some running to keep that defense off the field, especially if you have a rookie MLB starting. Romo in the shotgun 70% + will put up some points but it will get him killed (again) and will expose a thin (at best) defense.

we will play alot of zone. Cover 2 and 4 probably.

This, most likely, given Kaepernick's skill (or lack thereof, depending who you ask).

Playing man against a running QB like him opens up too many scrambling lanes, like playing against Michael Vick back in the day. By playing lots of zone facing the ball, you limit his ability to rip off big runs.

Controlling the line of scrimmage is going to be important. We'll want to flush him left.

I agree with everything except for the bolded part. What makes you say that the coaching is a push?

Harbaugh is overrated. Garrett is on an upward arc. And I'd take our defensive staff now that marinelli is dc over there's any day.
