Harbaugh is overrated. Garrett is on an upward arc. And I'd take our defensive staff now that marinelli is dc over there's any day.

How is Harbaugh overrated? He took over a Stanford program that was pathetic and turned into a powerhouse. Then he took over a SF team that has been absolutely irrevant for over a decade and has turned them into a powerhouse. How is he overrated? I bet our defense comes out and has a smash mouth performance ... just like last year(6 turnovers). I remember after the opener against the Giants, a lot of people were raving about our defense and how they've turned the corner .... then reality hit.

I was one of those thinking we'd be very good on defense. Oops.

Uh, the worst defense last year, and now this years d (with or without Lee), I doubt had the man power to stop ANY offense in the NFL, much less San Fran.

With that awful defense we went 8-8 last year. Clearly we did do some things right.

We might have a chance,let Romo air it out in the first half and stack up a bunch of scores. 2nd half ground game time control massive clock eating drives...put this new oline to work. If our D is at the least the middle of the pack we have a chance. Our offense is solidified at this moment.

Garrett is nowhere near the coach Harbaugh is, but in their only head to head meeting- Harbaugh blew the game for his team by declining an offsides penalty on the Cowboys and accepting the fg points scored to up his team's lead by ten. Had he accepted the penalty, the Niners might have scored the clinching touchdown or burnt more time off the clock then kicked an easier fg than the one Nedney converted.

By declining the penalty, Harbaugh left Romo just enough time to complete the comeback at the gun and win the game with the pass to Holley and Bailey kick in OT. Garrett had nothing to do with the win really, but Harbaugh's decision cost that ballgame.

I bet we come out and look impressive and somehow win the opener against the 9ers. All the headlines will be "Are the Cowboys legit this season?"and " Have the 49ers taken a step backwards?"....

Then a few weeks later we'll be 2-4 and they'll be 4-2 and everything will be back to normal.
