A postive to a negative about Phillps[TO}

TEEO will probably own this team now. After seeing the press conference do you think Phillps will have any control over Owens. He reminds me of Jerry Glanville. However, hes a way better coach and does have a decent track record, so I have an open mind to this. But getting back to Owens, I really feel Parcells won here because Owens shut his mouth for the most part the entire season. He had a few moments, but hey, with everyone waiting for the smallest mishap[media] he did a good job because nothing was long lasting[Parcells vs TEEO} Parcells won, like it or not. If he was in Philly or SF and was getting the early production he was getting, he would have flipped.

Now, I think hes going to control the team again, Owens. THe only postive is, I think he plays better when hes in that mode. Parcells basically had him neutered last year and one of only a few coaches that could have did that. What do you guys think?

i think that TO should not be back next year i never have and never will like the "player", i figure that if he does come back yuor assumption is correct and that he will do whatever he want's whenever he want's and only bring the team down.

I'm thinking JJ and Phillips have already discussed this issue and what will be will be. JJ above everything else wants to win but his ego is also a factor sometimes to the Cowboys detriment.

I'm still not sure TO will be here when we go to training camp...I think alot depends on what happens in offseason workouts and then ultimately the draft

When people are this concerned about one player and are constantly talking about appeasing one player, it shows that there is something wrong. Instead of talking about a team, it's all about TO.

Honestly, I've never seem Wade as a very bright guy. He has always come off of a lower intellect. While I beleive he has a handle on defensive schemes, just watching him bumble around during his press conference left a bit to be desired. Why did he just come out and make a statement like. "Jerry never came to me and said "The job is your, I'm just going to do some other interviews."? If you ask me, that threw up a red flag right from the get go. The guilty are the first to deny.

I think its possible the days of "Jerry's Puppet" are set to return. Norv would have worked just as well, but he took Wade because of his 3-4 defense experience.

If he took Norv Turner, he would have had to hire Ron Rivera out of Chicago who coaches a 4-3 which meant another defensive transition.

Mark my words, if Todd Bowles becomes the defensive coordinator, the Puppet Master has returned. During the days of destruction, Jerry choose what coach did what. He has already hired Garrett without letting his new head coach pick his staff. Bowles == DC == Puppet Master's Return

Just because a guy has an accent, it does not equate to being stupid. New Yorkers are known to believe this is actually true. I would agree , a Texas accent for some reason does not shout out intelligence, but please do not fault the guy for being from somewhere. I think most New Yorkers are dixs, but I am sure that is not true.

In Philly, McNabb and he couldnt share the spotlight and in SF he thought Garcia wasnt a good enough QB for them to win.

i just want a plausible scenario on how TO is just going to run amok other than these wild generalities.

I hope your right but McNabb and Owens started out as friends as well. You mention Owens and Garcia, others blame SF coaches for problems or Philly coaches but the one common is TO in all of this. Romo can go out and draw plays in the sand and we'll still put up big numbers, our offense is that explosive. Bill just made our gameplan more conservative at the end of the year, and put the faith in our defense. Bad idea. Phillips just needs to make our defense play to its potential and we'll be deep in the playoffs, this team is that good.

Owens and McNabb liked the idea of playing together but to say they were friends is not accurate. Romo and Owens do things together etc. Mcnabb and he didnt.
