I would rather have had a prime Romo in last nights game, then Dak any day.
THIS. Prescott has still not really supplanted Romo. And that won't happen until gets to the title game or beyond. Judging by what happened yesterday, the chances of that happening before the end of his current contract is rather remote. About the only thing you can do at this point is pay for another top flight wide-out like Hopkins, bring in a new coordinator to get "whatever" is left in Prescott...and hope for the best. It's that bad.

I expect the staunchest Prescott advocates to persist in their denials, but make no mistake, Prescott was nowhere near elite on Sunday. He was barely average.

Dak Prescott, Tony Romo, Danny White. All the same. Can get you regular season wins, get you to the playoffs, then lose.

Actually Danny White was better than the other 2. At least he got to 3 straight NFCCG's. And if not for that stupid catch, would have got to a SB.

I lived it. Nobody's changing my mind on Romo. I like him personally. I enjoy watching him on TV. I think he should be in the ROH. But the guy came up small in big games. He never took a game over in the playoffs like the other great QBs of his era. He might have played ok in a couple games. Nothing more. Never understood why anyone thought if he was QBing that 2016 team that the end result would be any different.
Then you must REALLY not like what Prescott has done...two years consecutive.

Danny White....the forgotten Cowboy QB. I always loved him. Not easy to replace a legend. But he did get us to 3 straight NFCCG. Fans weren't happy enough with that. My times have changed. Fighting over QBs who can't even get to a championship game. lol

He sucks. He sucked in both games. I'm not giving Dak a pass. I'm done with him. 10 years from now you won't see me in this forum defending what he couldn't do.

Jason Garrett’s stint with the Giants as play-caller actually raises the level of greatness of Romo to those that were paying attention. The fact Romo won that much with Jason Garrett calling the plays is unbelievable.

Jason Garrett turned Daniel Jones into a walking interception and couldn’t last even two years in NY. Daniel Jones went from throwing 24 TDs and 12 INTs as a rookie to 10 TDs and 11 INTs in his first year with Garrett and he played ONE MORE game that season.

They fielded pretty much the worst RG in the league and Joe Judge, who never after him in the first place, it was rumored had to take the RG over from him. If it weren’t for the fact Mara was the owner, Garrett would have been canned in half a season.

Romo easily kept JG job. Not many quarterbacks would have taken those trash tier teams to the playoffs let alone 8-8 seasons.

Towards the end I remember ex teammates saying Romo basically ran the offense

Neither QB has a legacy here. It’s that simple. As soon as “the next” QB is found, those two will be rightfully glossed over and forgotten about.

That was the best game he had that we lost.
I always felt the game he played against Manning and Denver was the best game he ever played.

I know he threw the INT at the end that loses the game, but he went toe to toe against Manning( the best QB that year)and was the only reason Dallas was even in the game. Without Romo, Dallas loses by multiple scores. Gets blown out.

Romo's last divisional playoff game: 15/19 191 yards 2 TDs 0 picks.

Dak yesterday: 23/37 206 yards 1 TD 2 Picks
Romo's playoff record 2-4 and a 93 rating
Dak's playoff record 2-4 and a 92.3 rating

Sure Dak earned that record in less time and though they each have some different skill sets the results are the same. So regardless how anyone wants to argue Romo vs Dak they're virtually the same QB in what they have delivered.

Romo all day. Horrible comparison. Close this thread.
It's more than a fair discussion and the comparison is pretty spot on. Danny White would be in the mix too had he not advanced to the conference championship 3x. We as fans have a way of glorifying good players as a great players in the past, but in the moment they get their fair criticism.

Tony Romo was a good player and had an amazing career as an undrafted QB. He will always be a well liked and some fans favorite. However, Dak is on a similar career trajectory as difficult as that is to admit for Romo or Dak loyalists.

The fact that Romo had a better passer rating despite playing a decade earlier, facing better defenses, and having weaker offensive supporting casts says that they are not virtually the same QB.

Romo is a better quarterback than Dak. Romo would choke in the big moments but at least he would get to them.
lets get something straight about Romo. he carried his teams to 8-8 records that had no business of being more than 4 win teams. when you're carrying your teams and giving them a chance to win late almost every game, of course you're going to fail sometimes. stats show Romo is actually one of the most clutch QBs ever. people only remember his failures, they don't remember his successes. stack them and its obvious he was clutch. please don't compare Dak and Romo. its like comparing Quincy Carter to Troy Aikman.

These threads make it easy to know who to ignore. Takes like this tells me you offer nothing - your analytical view of the game is poor and you're too stubborn to admit when you're wrong.
