And in the end that's all that matters. Be great if we could compare SB champion QBs again but unfortunately there are fans that were too young to appreciate Aikman and never saw Staubach play. Those of us that did remember greatness.
The greatness of Aikman? Aikman was even more blessed that Purdy is.

how tough was it handing the ball off to Emmitt all game long?

Average passer rating years Dak made the playoffs:

89.1
90.8
92.9
89.3

Average passer rating years Romo made the playoffs:

88.9
83.0
82.6
80.4

The Niners defense was very strong, sure. But they were mitigated pretty well last night with what 5 pressures all game?

Outside of last year's game, Dak's had it pretty easy. For example, despite being more elusive, Romo took 22 sacks in 6 playoff games, compared to Dak's 11 in 6 playoff games.

Witten was great, TO was very talented, but was hurt in his only playoff game he played in Dallas. Outside of that, Romo had an ok #1 in Miles Austin, and then a few years of Dez at the end of his career.

LOL at calling the Oline great, every year of Dak's oline would be an upgrade on all of Romo's oline prior to 2013.

Murray was pretty good when he wasn't fumbling the game away in the playoffs, Barber was a better version of current Zeke, and Felix Jones had a few good years. I'd say Dak has had the edge with early Zeke and Pollard, but neither are particularly noteworthy.

Anything else? ;)
Some other good numbers First 7 years. Obviously Romo sat a few years so not counting those.
Romo First 7 years starting 2006 through 2012
25,737 Passing Yards
3240 Attempts
2097 Completions
64.7 Completion%
TD 177
Int 91
1.94 Touchdowns per interception

Dak 7 years

24943 Passing Yards
3283 attemps
2185 Completions
66.6% Completion
TD 166
Int 65
2.55 Touchdowns per interception

These two are not that far apart. And if one were to look at these numbers without ever watching either play there sure was nothing that really separates either apart or shows Romo being any better than Dak in my opinion.

Oh yah, more season of Dak leading the #1 offense in the NFL and making the playoffs with 12 win type seasons?
After that last pass to Gallup, all he had to do was lead him inside. Gallup had beat his man. Dak just chucked it, behind and late. 40 ml should get more than that. That's why Dak's game lacks the deep ball all year. He led the lead in pic's playing only 12 games. Unfortunately, we've seen Dak's best.

40m QB's dont throw picks eh? More brilliant analysis. FYI.......Dak didnt throw it behind Gallup, he threw it way too late. My god you cant even analyze one play.

Despite playing a decade earlier? We're not talking about the 90s that saw significant changes to defensive passing rules.

Better defenses? Romo never faced the number 1 defense in points and yards allowed. Otherwise statistically both faced average to top 3rd defenses.

Supporting cast? Romo had a hall of fame TE, prime Dez Bryant, Terrell Owens, some of the greatest pass catchers to come through the organization were here with Romo. Offensive line was great, and the RBs between Demarco Murray, Marion Barber, Felix Jones were quite productive if you remember as well.

Anything else you got? ;)
BS. The game has changed a lot, to suggest it hasn't is absurd. Just a simple look at QB completion % will tell you how much easier it has gotten on QBs.

You have very short memory. 1-15 and beaten up like a rage doll while Jimmy Johnson was trying to figure out the NFL while trotting out a Cowboy team that couldn't beat his Miami Hurricanes. 2nd yr was little better 7-8.

Purdy is blessed to walk into a team that is loaded in almost every position. It's like Dak back in his rookie year except our D wasn't as good.

So you came away thinking that I was talking about Cowboys first few years? Wow!

Dak may still have a chance to prove us wrong.

Romo got better almost every year and his interception rate went DOWN. You can see his improvement. Dak is trending the WRONG WAY.

It’s unsurprising when you realize that’s when his offensive line was upgraded and he gained a consistently reliable runner. There’s a synergy on offense between the offensive line, running back and QB. A good QB opens up the running game, a good RB opens up the passing game, and a good offensive line helps them both.

Romo's playoff record 2-4 and a 93 rating
Dak's playoff record 2-4 and a 92.3 rating

Sure Dak earned that record in less time and though they each have some different skill sets the results are the same. So regardless how anyone wants to argue Romo vs Dak they're virtually the same QB in what they have delivered.
Statistically they maybe similar.

On Sundays and every other day...... Give me the older, mature Romo.

I lived it. Nobody's changing my mind on Romo. I like him personally. I enjoy watching him on TV. I think he should be in the ROH. But the guy came up small in big games. He never took a game over in the playoffs like the other great QBs of his era. He might have played ok in a couple games. Nothing more. Never understood why anyone thought if he was QBing that 2016 team that the end result would be any different.
I lived it too. The only two realistic chance Romo had was in 2009 and 2016. The rest of the time Cowboys made the playoffs when they really had no business making it. He carried the team. He accounts for at least 2 extra wins per year for those Cowboy teams.

Dak is a good QB but he can't read defense nor anticipate like Romo. Dak can't really throw an out pattern well.

Agree Dak is trending down but neither player at their peek ever won a Divisional game and worse Romo lost Divisional game at home. It's no surprise that their post season records are similar either. Hopefully Dak can break the trend but I won't hold my breath :)

I guess we see what we want. There's a great short on youtube mocking that throw.

Oh yah, what a stud brock Purdy. He really tore it up Sunday.
Don't get your panties in a bunch. Where did I say he tore it up? Just crazy to think this guy has already won just as many playoff games as a starting QB in his first year. I think it says more about the Cowboys franchise than Dak and Romo.

Tony Romo had a passer rating of 93.0 with 1,316 yards, 8 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in 6 games in the playoffs in his career.
The stats are pretty comparable between the two.

Dak in 6 games in the playoffs.

92.3 rating, 1,559 yards, 11 TD, 5 Ints, 118 Yards rushing and 4 rushing TDS.

They are both 2-4-0 in the playoffs.
