A Prescott/Romo Comparison

I lived it too. The only two realistic chance Romo had was in 2009 and 2016. The rest of the time Cowboys made the playoffs when they really had no business making it. He carried the team. He accounts for at least 2 extra wins per year for those Cowboy teams.

Dak is a good QB but he can't read defense nor anticipate like Romo. Dak can't really throw an out pattern well.

We were the number 1 seed in 2007. How can you say we had no business making the playoffs in 2007? We had the most prowbowlers in the NFC that year.

Romo could make plays and was actually clutch end of game. Dak not so much. He could barely get past one read last night and still forced it to lamb.

Now I'm no Dak hater and while he plays with a star on his helmet I will be behind him 100%.
But just like Tony Romo, Dak Prescott will never win a Super Bowl.
Tony was prone to making errors in big games, as is Dak.
Dak isn't going anywhere for the next couple of seasons but the front office need to start planning who his successor may be right now, whether it's through the draft or via a trade.

I mean honestly I could think of 2 big errors Romo made in big games. 1 the obvious botched snap which was a freak thing and he shouldn't even have been doing so at the time. Another was a terrible INT against Washington one year that kept us out of the playoffs. Other than that people/fans either forgot, don't remember or don't understand football. Patrick Crayton 100% lost us that game against the giants in 07-08 playoffs. Not only was the dropped ball over the middle one of the worst but Romo late in the 4th with the game on the line threw a perfect ball to the corner of the endzone and Crayton just stopped for ZERO reason. Romo also never had a line and a defense at the same time maybe besides that 07 team. He did more with less and a completely useless head coach.

We'll never get a ring with Dak as the starting QB. Bank on it. That's not to say I won't be rooting for him come game 1 next year if he's the starting QB, but I just don't believe he can get it done. He's a regular season QB only. Then when the pressure's on...failure.

Clint Murchison was our best owner and Tex Schramm was our best GM. . Murchison knew how to build a franchise. He hired the football people to run the franchise and stayed out of the way. If Jerry didn't hired Jimmy nobody would care about the Cowboys now. Jimmy was the defacto GM back in the early 90's. When Jerry took over that's when this franchise started to fall. 27 years of proof. If Jerry had any hand in that 90's dynasty other than do what Jimmy told him to do we'd be much more successful. And the only reason he hired Jimmy was because he and Jimmy were buddies. He lucked into that one too.

Not true. I'm not rooting against Dak. I just don't believe in him. I think he'll choke even if I hope for him to win.

If you were referring to Romo's 5 picks in the monday night Buffalo game, you should also mention that he came back and won that game. I know Bills fans that despise Romo to this day just for that game.

It doesn't matter. Romo choked in big games. Fact. He won 2 playoff games. fact. I don't know how many times that guy broke my heart. It is what it is. Dak isn't as good. He played a great game against TB. I don't even remember Romo playing that good of a game in the playoffs. Then again I don't remember Romo playing as bad a game as Dak played yesterday. I'll be glad when all this nonsense is done and fans can compare SB winning QBs.

I remember that game.....he also did it against the Chicago Bears, but lost. Do you remember? But my point was relating to any QB doing that to illustrate the factors to consider when that happens......not understanding or regarding coverages, gunslinger, or not smart.....3 factors an OC should correct or conclude with their QB.
