Here's what's in store for all.

Philly: @GB, Was, Bye, AZ, Det, @MN, Chi, @Dal (7)
Wash: @MN, @Philly, SF, NYG, KC, @Atl, @Dal, @NYG (8)
NYG: Oak, GB, Dal, @Wash, @SD, Seattle, @Det (7)
Dallas: @NO, Bye, @NYG, Oak, @Chi, GB, @Was, Philly (7)

Philly has two divisional games left Was and @Dal (2)
Wash is @Philly, NYG, @Dal, and @NYG (4)
NYG has Dal and @Wash and Wash (3)
Dallas is @NYG, @Wash, and Philly (3)

Here's the current standings:

Dallas Cowboys 5-4
Philadelphia Eagles 4-5
Washington Commanders 3-5
New York Giants 2-6

Wash has 4 games left with 2 against NYG and one each Dal and Philly. So that is 3 division losses for other teams not necessarily Wash. The NYG have two against Wash so that's one more loss.

Philly only has 2 games left one us and the other Was.

So NYG play Wash twice and us once.

I don't see us winning a playoff spot outside the division unless we win 5 more games. Our main competition outside the division for a wild card is Det at 5-3, Chi at 4-3, and AZ at 4-4. Right now Seattle and SF look good to win a ticket but AZ could sneak in there. More likely Carolina and NO will take two spots, too. That's four of six with one spot to the NFC East and one to the North which will probably be GB although that's not certain as Det and Chi are in the hunt.

So I'll say for now we need to win the division. For us that means we should beat Wash and Philly as I don't see NY catching us. Obviously the game is important as Wash and Phllly are chasing but I'd pick beating them over NY any day. All 3 would be gold. Two gets us to 7 wins and three to 8. That would leave us needing probably one or two more games to win. We're not favored @NO. @Chi will probably see us as slight underdogs although that's a winnable game. GB might be a slight favorite although we're 4-1 at home now. I wouldn't be surprised to see us a slight underdog @Wash. If we can go at least 1-2 vs NO, GB and Chi then we'll be in the hunt week 17 IMO. If we win 2 or 3 which I wouldn't bet on then we're probably resting guys week 17. Just a guess though.

There's so much speculation from here I'll stop but thought some might like to see it.

being 5-1 currently in the NFC is so important for tiebreakers. we already have a win over each divisional opponent.

calm down people, we are in the drivers seat a lot more comfortably than we think.

Agreed. And a couple of little things that could make a big difference. Things like getting a bye late in the year, rather than early in the season. Playing the Giants in NY after having a full two weeks to prepare and get healthy. And of course, finishing the season at home. And of course, we have the best QB in the division.

I see us at 9-7. Just barely winning the division. Then getting curbstomped in the playoff game. One and very done. It might be close if we get Carolina as the opponent; but they are really physical and we would hope that Newton implodes for us to have a chance.

I think a win in 1 of these 2 next games will put in a very good position especially if that 1 is against the Giants. That would be 4-0 in the division. So the worst we could do is 4-2 after that. All the other teams in the division have 2 losses already.

Winning both of these next 2 games IMO puts us in the drivers seat. There is almost no way we don't win the division if we win these next 2 games.

Because we have been "curb stomped" so often this year? Go watch football and report back.

....lose to the Saints and we're only a game up on Washington if they win still having to go to their place. I would hardly call our position comfortable...especially considering the fact we have an anemic offense and a historically bad defense.

 Curbstomped by who. One we haven't been curbstomped by anyone in over a year and two the potential opponents Seattle, SF, Carolina, or Detroit aren't going to be the ones to do it. We might get beat but we aren't going to get blown out especially at home.

I would say that it is about as comfortable as you can hope for in the NFL these days.

Well there's 5 games between now and that game at Washington so they may not be a game back by time that game takes place. Lots of football left.

The only match up I wouldn't be really keen on is Seattle in Seattle. The rest? Bring it.

There are 3 other division leaders with two game leads...I'd say that they are a lot more comfortable.

Speaking of which, how terrible is the AFC? There are some awful teams over there.

If Dallas goes 9-7 it will pretty much mean that they swept the Division, so that should lock it up.

I like the fact we are leading but unless this group steps up and starts playing more consistently then it will be a short lived post season should we make it. I would like to see us win the division but right now I would like to see us playing better ball offense, defense and special team.

I am with you and as much as I hate it, rooting for SF to win that division. If we have to go on the road, SF is better than Seattle. I figure we will be the 4th seed and play the 5th seed in the first round, which I suspect will be from the NFCW, either San Fran or Seattle, would much rather play Seattle at Home and San Fran on the road the next week if I could pick'em.

I look for it to fall out this way:
1. SF
2. NO
3. GB
4 DAL
5. Seattle
6. Lions

Our defense is so freakin bad anything (bad) can happen. Like I say, one game at a time. I am very very very very scared of Jimmy Graham this week.

Very.
