Please. We go and sign a woman beater who paid off a witness, and you all want to act like it's a conspiracy against the team. And somehow you're shocked that people in the league office are upset about it.

I wonder why she took the alleged cash if the allegations are true, would you not want to the nail the guy to the wall instead? Just wondering?

It's adirect and obvious conflict of interest. Do you want the local president of NOW to oversee your divorce hearing?

If this happened to Eli, Brady or Peyton it would be a non-issue. Could have shot her dead in the head. They called 911 and the woman was ADMITTEDLY under the influence of Cocaine!

As much as I hate those guys, that's like saying I have a chance to win the lotto three times. There is a reason those guys are where they are, and what's between their ears is 95% of it. Elite qb's are good judgement guys, they don't make those type of moronic decisions...very bad comparison you used.

So that QB in Pitt is not elite, huh? That explains his rapist tendencies, I guess.

They hire her firm to do the investigation, and then not more than 2 weeks ago they give her a job?

Does anyone else in the league see what's wrong with that? It's worse than nepotism.

Starting to get the sense that "ethics" is not the NFL's watchword.

Mara is an owner. He cant get fired

With Donald Sterling getting stripped of his ownership, it's possible.

Not to you, but an in general:

Until someone can actually prove Hardy paid her off(like with the court case no one can find) just stop with that nonsense.

I think most people would rather take the biggest cash payday of their lives than see the other person go to trial where you may lose or where, even if you win, he gets little more than a slap on the wrist.

I've been preaching the above for, oh, 3 months now about the inherent conflict of interest of parties in the league office conducting investigations and administering punishment when they have their own built in biases against certain teams.

Nobody really listened to me over that time period, but I am glad to welcome you aboard now.

I will be the first to say that I was not an advocate to obtain Hardy and I still think the probability is
that this guy will haunt the Cowboys in the end. That being said, they structured his deal to have
minimum financial impact if he doesn't get to play. I don't think the Commissioner cares about
guilt or innocence in this deal as public opinion and NFL advertisers want blood and their pound
of flesh.

Now, do I think Hardy will have his suspension reduced... Yep, probably to 4 or 5 games. I also think
Hardy will appeal that arbitration ruling to Judge Doty. Doty could keep it at 4 games or reduce it to
2 games based on the old rules. This new tact floated by the NFL that they view the episode as 4 separate
instances of rule violation rather that 1 is obviously an effort to skirt the Ray Rice opinion. I think the NFL
may appeal a Doty ruling to the 8th circuit court and keep Hardy on an exempt list while the case meanders
which would in effect leave Hardy on the sidelines for most of the season. TV advertisers and sponsors drive
the money in this sport and money talks when they want action. Just saying!

GH's suspension aside, what is starting to bother me with the NFL's new hardline stance is this movement by the NFL to become it's own court of law when it comes to these off field events. I do not think we are too far off from a scenario where a player is suspected of some sort of crime, is never arrested or charged with anything for whatever reason, but the NFL's CSI team determines that the player is guilty based on "their" findings and they dole out their punishment despite the lack of any formal charges or arrest.
