Michael Irvin is beyond excited about Pickens trade says Cowboys are playoff-bound

No that's not true but you can keep pushing it if you want is that where you want to go I mean I literally also have 30,000 likes you know reactions good bad or indifferent somebody'd reading it and apparently I've got you on the hook you're triggered and you won't let it go OK dad I got better things to do than talk to you today so I'll be seeing you around some other day or not probably not...
That’s funny…I’m not triggered at all. I actually find you quite fascinating.

You suggest I am triggered, yet every post you make sounds like you large running around with your hair on fire. You started this conversation, not me. I don’t respond to your rants not directed at me and in my perfect world, I would earn your ignore button.

Again, self awareness…look it up. It can even be more valuable for your mental well being than the ignore button.

I’m also going to give you a like since that seems important to you and I’m all about helping others with their mental wellbeing.

I'm actually more worried about the health of the cbs and having to start the season with a bunch of backups, in addition to the challenge of the interior dline. Hopefully overshown comes back healthy too.

On paper st least offense looks mich more formidable than defense but a lot can happen in TC - just for once I'd love to see the team blessed with health...but hearing what the players say about the lack of training staff i am going to surmise we continue to have soft tissue issues
They aren’t starting the season with a bunch of backups. Did you forget about Bland? Also, they drafted a 1st rd talent in Revel Jr. Also, the best medicine for a good secondary is a good pass rush. They drafted another pass rushing DE with 1st rd talent in Ezeiruaku, Him, Parsons, Fowler and Williams.

I’d like to see a team by team breakdown on soft tissue injuries. Does Dallas have more than every other team?

So are you saying you were exaggerating or was he one of the worst teammates in their history. Your post didn’t say anything about Tomlin other than he likes WR’s which is odd. And everything I have read said he was liked by his teammates.
Well, you must not read much. I'll just start this for you since you seem to have taken an interest.

You ever think maybe pickens wanted out of pittsburgh ?? so he did stuff so they would want to trade him, and gee look where he landed !
A player like him would love to play for cowboys, as opposed to pittsburgh, or even worse cleveland.
They also have to live in those citys, which makes a big difference to some guys.

He is saying all the right things now, so I will wait and judge him after this season.

Tomlin is IMO overrated, he hasnt done anything since rothelisburger (sp) who made him look better than he actually is.
Pickens is a moron. He was a moron at UGA. He was a moron in Pittsburgh. But, I'm sure he was just playing everybody so he could land in Dallas on a 1 year deal.

No, I am well aware of his transgressions (mostly on the field). I was replying to your comment that Pickens is one of the worst teammates in the Steelers history. I haven’t seen much to suggest he was an issue with his teammates. Quite the contrary, most of what I have heard was that he was liked by his teammates.

I agree he has much to prove. I also believe that Tomlin doesn’t suffer fools gladly and likely has little patience with a lack of discipline or self control, which is what I think is the problem with Pickens. This isn’t the first time he has had an issue with a WR and likely not the last.

Pickens was constantly late to meetings and was even late to the Christmas Day game against KC. He had all the red flags at UGA that he had in Pittsburgh. Thats why he fell to round 2. Tomlin thought he could set this kid right and develop him. He gave up. This is a one year rental. I'm more pissed that we gave up the 3rd round pick. As a Cowboy fan, about all I have to look forward to every year in regard to hope is the NFL draft. Now, I feel less hopeful.

I’m aware of all of that. It’s been posted before and it sounds like we both agree that he has much to prove. But I’m not sure how one would even qualify where he ranks as a teammate in the Steelers 90 year history.

Personally, I think his issue was mostly with Tomlin, not his teammates. I also question whether he would have been traded if they hadn’t signed Metcalf to a $150M contract, but I guess we will never know.

And I’m not ready to concede this is a 1 year rental. If he ends up commanding top dollar (which I don’t think he will), we will get a good comp pick back. I agree that’s not ideal but IMO, it’s worth the risk.

However, if he can be had on a reasonable contract for the position, I think the Cowboy’s will attempt to keep him. While Jerry does some confusing things, I can’t imagine he made this trade with the intention of it being a 1 year rental. That doesn’t sound like Jerry.

Finding a way to keep a player, even if they are past their shelf life, which Pickens isn’t, sounds more like Jerry. Keeping a player you spent capital on to avoid acknowledging a mistake sounds more like Jerry. And historically we do seem to have a fairly high tolerance these types players.

But I can see how others might disagree with my opinions.

Well that is something we just have to wait and see what happens.
I think Shotty is a better HC than most think, and I am hoping that he is better at
getting the team prepared for big games, and has better game plans, and can ad lib
during games they are losing.

I think we will see a vastly different cowboys team this Sept !
Well...okay. I'm a bit weary of "talk"...especially so early. Stop talking and show us.

(not you, Mr. Don...you good. :) )
