A reminder that Dak Prescott is the longest tenured starting QB in the NFL

Trey Lance was a former 2nd overall pick, Romo was a former All Pro....that's about it lol.
Romo was broken and Lance was traded for a 4th. Go back and look at the history of QB's drafted in the 4th and tell me how many were a serious attempt to bring in any kind of possible starter and I can name considerably more that weren't.

Ok so using this argument you don't believe Dak is injury prone then right? Because he's only been hurt 3 times out of 10 years.....
explain how my logic of saying that Dak has 3 4000+ yard season is fact versus to an opinion I mean have that at this point of his career he is where Romo was at the end of his. Whether or not Dak is injury prone is an opinion. Whether or not Dak has 3 4000+ season in 9 years is fact.

and they dumped Romo and would not let him compete for his job and squandered probably our best chance at getting to a NFC championship game in 20 years
...and only Jerry Jones (a.k.a. Mad Genius) considered Trey Lance as a quality successor for Prescott in either the short- or long-term.

LOL....the statement made was Dak was a 4k passer....was that not what you were arguing against?

He's been unchallenged because the Cowboys have never made a serious attempt to bring in any kind of possible replacement.

Exactly what I said the first time.
Do you remember the game they brought Romo in and he expertly marched them down for a score. And Jerry instantly put him back on the bench?

I happen to think it was insulting. Why? Why do that for one series? I do believe it threatened Jerry's new toy. There is no other explanation. And it's been that way ever since. Other teams draft QB's even with Super Bowl winning ones.

Dak Defenders will tell you "Romo didn't do anything"...and at the same time tell you Dak DESTROYED Brady's career. People.:rolleyes::huh::facepalm:

So that's what the powers that be here want. All negative whiners on this board and no positive, true fans here. Makes sense. I guess that's why there's only about 10 true fans here. The rest are trolls and crybabies. I guess either way this site is getting traffic. The worst fanbase in all of professional sports. SAS is right about that!

I don't have a chihuahua. Shepard mix, husky and pitty.
If all you look for is the negative that is all you will find.

You originally said, "You guys will hate him too lol. Everyone loves the backup until the backup comes in…then he’s public enemy number one….to the point you guys forgot you hated Romo but would rather go back to him long as it isn’t Dak."

Risen was pointing out that He liked Romo when he was the backup, and he liked him when he became the starting Quarterback. A lot of people around here remember the local chatter of the back up being kind of good. and Despite Romo losing the first game, the next game he looked good in and people were happy in the quarterback. So Risen liked the backup and continued liking the backup when he came in and played.
Look...don't bring facts into this against one of the biggest haters around here. He's just gonna twist ya up in a spiral rabbit hole.

You didn’t see trading a 4th for Lance as a serious attempt? Had he shown something he could’ve been our starter. The Patriots traded Bledsoe a year after he signed the biggest contract at the time for a QB because Brady took advantage of an opportunity. Dak has never come close to playing to a level that required the Cowboys to use their top pick on a QB.

They just traded for Milton. They didn’t trade for him with the thoughts of him just becoming a backup. They see starting potential. Drafting a QB with a first round pick doesn’t mean they’ll be able to challenge Dak. He may not be great, but whether some of you want to admit it or not he’s still a good QB and it would take a terrific QB to beat him out.

Coog Made the statement that "As long as he keeps having 4k plus yards, Jerry and fans will be happy with the typical anointing of one Dak Prescott as the savior and king!!! Only to fall flat on his face in the playoffs!"

Mountaineer replied back that Dak only 3 4K seasons in 9 years.

To which AC said that, that statement was intentionally misleading.

To which I queried, how is posting a fact being misleading?

It is 100% true that he is talking about Cowboys fans. However, I would ask whether he is discussing:
  1. all Cowboys fans? Or
  2. highly critical Cowboys fans of their team? Or
  3. not so critical Cowboys fans of their team?

In my opinion, Smith is talking primarily about fans matching #3 criteria.
Aww how sweet that you're taking up for your little buddy, Mountaineer.

I'm sure he's talking about the so-called fans here who wish injury and even death on players like Dak. :)

Yeah I mean it was one of those tough situations where you don't improve your team through free agency you do it through the draft so how much draft capital should you waste on a QB? I liked Lance and I like Milton. Dak is a top 10 QB so chances are whoever they draft will more than likely be a wasted pick. Its tough to find a QB of his caliber contrary to popular belief. They got lucky with Romo and got lucky with Dak. Typically players of their caliber you have to use a top pick on.

Because Coog was implying he's gonna get you 4k yards. Because he's a 4k a season type guy. But let me stay out of it if you guys think he plays a whole season and can't get 4k yards its fine. I remember when guys said he can't throw for 200 yards....I guess that argument is back somehow lol. Long as we win is all I care about so ok.

You think he is going to get 4k this season?
