I think it'd be silly to give up on an NFL season at 2-3. Mostly, because I've seen NFL seasons before.

I posted this quite a few times. I never give up on a team of sitting at 3-7.
In 1989, we went 1-15, in 1990 we weren't supposed to be much better, record wise. So we sat on a 3-7 record, everyone thought, they are out of it. We reel off 4 wins to get to 7-7.

We go to Philly, needing 1 win to clinch a playoff spot. We were playing well, until as usual one of our division rivals knocked out QB our of the game. Aikman out, Laufenberg in. We lose.
So we go to Atlanta, a bad team...Laufenberg can't get us that win, he was horrible. We are at 7-9.....but...

Rams and Saints play on Monday night, if Rams win, we get in at 7-9....Morten Anderson, all universe K, lines up to kick the game winning FG....automatic...he misses, but damn, Rams offsides, and he makes the next attempt. We are out and Saints are in at 8-8.

Thing was also, if we would have made the playoffs, we would have been at Chicago in the playoffs, with Aikman back, and Playing a very banged up Bears team.

Honestly I'm hoping for wins and as of now still have playoff aspirations. However a few more losses and I'll just enjoy having our players back and see how they play. Mostly Randy Gregory, Jones, Collins, Butler and Cmike to name a few. Then I suppose like most will look forward to the draft and hopefully not lose players like Mcclain to the offseason.

I am like Curious George and wish for a show of hands on this: Don't be shy or coy or nuthing.

1. Some of us retain hopes for the playoffs (even the Super Bowl)
2. Other rough and clearer headed mens are still hoping for wins . . . but if not, thinking . . . DRAFT!

How manys mens here are thinking one of either? How many are thinking about Joely Richardson (I saw her first!) or a free cruise like the man said in the phone voicemail at the rec center?

I ax because we really really needs a QB to groom and as RB to carry us the way Murray did last year. A durable, Emmitt-like banger.

Holla

I think playoffs are a possibility, but this defense isn't ready to make us superbowl contender unless they drastically improve.

Time to look towards the draft. Romo's window is small, about 3 years. The coming pick might be a good opportunity to draft Romo's successor. When Romo is healthy the team won't get a pick that's around a top 5 pick like they will this year.

Count me amongst the optimists who don't think this season is over... If we win @ NYG, then we're still in good shape... Even if we go winless without Romo, there's still some hope that Romo could lead us to 7-0 down the stretch...

Also, count me out on wasting a high draft pick on a "QB to groom"... We have one of the very best QB's in the NFL, and he still has a few good years left in him... Now is not the time to waste draft picks planning for life after Romo... Now is the time to put every egg we've got into our Romo basket and hope he can lead us to Lombardi number six, which he just might...
