A Touch of Hostility...Week 17

This team is not giving up points. Back to back shutouts have not happened for the Cowboys since...ever. This was the 20th career shutout by the Cowboys including two post season shutouts. It was also the 2nd shutout against the Eagles.

Hos,

If you don't mind, I would like to make a correction.

Dallas Post-Season Shutouts

1970: Dallas 5 - Detroit 0
1978: Dallas 28 - Los Angeles 0
1981: Dallas 38 - Tampa Bay 0

Which one did you forget?

LMAO...the 5-0 one over Detroit. Thanks man, I will correct it right now.

A thought struck me that I did not include in the OP.

In the History of the NFC East only two teams have ever swept the Regular season series and then completed the 3 game sweep in the Post Season. The Giants have done it both times.

The first time was 1986 season when they swept the Commanders 3-0.

The second time was the 2000 season when they swept the Eagles 3-0.

There have only been 19 times in NFL history when a team had a shot at a 3 game sweep. 12 times the sweep has happened. Sadly Dallas has 2 of the 7 teams who failed to record the sweep when they had the chance. 1998 against the Cardinals and 2007 against the Giants.

Is the 3rd time the charm? We all sure hope so.

I largely agree.

However . . .

I don't git why any Cowboys fan would believe the Eagles didn't try.
They had everything to gain and a home-field to lose.
Noooooo, the Eagles did try. Reid certainly did, judging by his sideline demeanor.
the Eagles just ran into an offensive and defensive buzzsaw called the Dallas Cowboys.
