Wow .... that explains that.

Doesn't change the fact that the ball was still poorly overthrown.

Huh?

The receiver was supposed to be much further up the field but was not because of the illegal defense.

I think you're missing the point - this was just one play. It wasn't Romo's fault that the ball looked high because of the illegal contact on this one play. There's plenty of other examples to find for bad throws and plays from yesterday.
No, he's not. He's saying that he doesn't care if Romo throws good or bad passes since he is a bad quarterback in his opinion. While the video conclusively shows that Romo threw a good pass which Williams didn't have an opportunity to run under due to defensive pass interference, he couldn't care less.

The ball was thrown way too high...it doesn't matter if Roy fitted bumped off of his route.

Agreed, the pass was too high anyway. Roy may have been able to come down with it without the chuck if the other defender wasn't there, but he would have had to jump anyway.

Even without the chuck and a well thrown pass, he's still putting Roy in danger with that safety or whoever that was coming cross field.

Not to mention the fact that Roy runs these lazy *** routes.

I have looked at the video tape several times and it does indeed appear that Romo is winding up right when RW is chucked, so it is possible and quite probable that this illegal action caused the pass to appear to be inaccurate.

When I saw this play happen on replay, I thought to myself were the refs picking their nose and looking at their buggers because it was so blatantly obvious and I've seen Cowboys players get called for the same thing?

But, then I realized it's the refs in the NFL (who are consistently horrendous) and they obviously are told to call the games a certain way when the Cowboys play, and that is almost always against them in the sense of allowing other teams to get away with more "physical" play, especially if they are on the road.

The pass looks too high to me anyway, chuck notwithstanding.

Not much else to add. The only reason not to give up is we're in a weak division. The Giants's record looks a lot less impressive when you look at who they've beaten (including us) and they've got injury issues on both sides. The Eagles have injury issues too. The Commanders...please.

The first quarter of the season has been a bust no question, and there's not much reason to think the guys will turn it around given the staff and the prevailing mentality. Odds are Jason Garrett will get outcoached in pivotal upcoming games and it's more realistic just to scrape up what wins we can in preparation for a REAL transition in the offseason.

Here's an attempt at lemonade: We know teams will be making scouting adjustments to the frontrunners and new discoveries and clearly we're neither frontrunners nor do we have new discoveries right now. Right now teams can rely on us to beat ourselves or to not have the confident to beat them. At some point, that has to end right? And when it does we've got a chance at a winning streak. Not one that'll last given some basic issues we have. But if it's timed right and against the right opponents it could put us back in the mix to make the playoffs thanks to our weak division.

I wouldn't say I'm hopeful but I don't think we're out of it.

Do you seriously believe this?

How delusional do you have to be to think the NFL would want it's most profitable franchise to be unsuccesful?

I doubt anything is physically wrong with him. I'm guessing the altitude had more to do with passes sailing on him. That should be an easy adjustment if you know it's going to be a factor, but it looked like he never adjusted.

I don't know Adam. I do hope that it was nothing more then just playing in unfamiliar surrounds but, I have to say that Romo has exibited this in pretty much every game I've seen him in this year. He does come around but he has been inaccurate, often high on a lot of throws, more then I remember him being in prior years. I hope it is something that he can work through.

I just think this is a classic case of two or more people watching the same footage and coming to different conclusions.

If you watch most teams when they are in "Zone", you will see that once a defender is "passing" a Receiver to the next Zone, there will be some contact.

However, the Referee could have thrown a flag but I still think the pass was a little too high.

Doesn't mean i'm saying Tony Romo is a bad quarterback, which some people in this thread are trying to say that is what I am doing.

LOL

and if it were are secondary that made that push and got flagged you would be the guy telling us to stop complaining because it was clearly a penalty and clearly the plays timing was disrupted because of the penalty.

It was a great no call (sarcasm). Romo almost gets picked and our WR is now going to miss a game because he was hung out to try after the chuck and injures some ribs.

Seems like it gets into the 4h quarter and part of the rule book goes out the window. Bailey also grabbed Hurd around the waist on the 4th down play and no call.

The NFL makes money regardless, it is all dependent upon ratings, and haters and lovers come into just as much consideration. The Cowboys are the most loved franchise. They are also the most hated.

The reality is that Dallas isn't a very good team...

This...

After watching that video I take back my earlier statement. Romo didn't hang Roy out to dry on "that throw". The referee hung Roy out to dry. That said, it's still crying over spilled milk. The milk wouldn't be on the floor in the first place if we had a HC, DC, and OC that knew what the hell they were doing...

Romo's accuracy seemed fine until he started getting hit frequently by the Defense. He started looking skittish in the pocket after that first hit/fumble and he never looked Austin's way again after those two routes that he ran wrong.
