You are right.......in MASS his conviction for Murder will likely be vacated since his appeals were never heard..... he may not even have money left for a civil case......his pension can't be touched

He was found guilty and was in the process of trying to prove he was in fact innocent. Two different concepts. He was no longer considered innocent until proven guilty.

He was just acquitted of two other murders but was still serving a life sentence for the original murder he committed. Dude was a killer and now he has killed himself.

it's the lawyer in me, but I will state "found guilty of committing", we really do not know if he did it or not

My brother killed himself and his kids collected the life insurance. It was cut in half though from 2 million, to 1. It depends on the policy if it pays in cases of suicide.

I met a former correctional officer who said basically the same thing, but he also said how much things are kept in control in general varies a lot from place to place. Said he saw the most vicious sadism from the inmates of a women's prison he briefly worked at, actually.

Funny you say that. My cousin works as a correctional officer at salinas prison out here in CA, it's a pretty rough prison, and she said she'd rather work there then at a women's facility.

As far as an inside job, as some have said...I doubt it. I have lots of friends in LE, and when I joke around with them about stuffing some money in their pockets after a drug bust, every one of them says no way they'd risk their job over something stupid like that. Your not going to risk your life, job etc over some scumbag and end up behind bars yourself.
