As long as it's not against forum rules, folks on here are allowed to post opinions. The fact that you think that I was flexing my mod-muscle is wild considering other people have expressed similar opinions about your posts. If I was modding, it would be done via PMs. Not in the open forum.

So youre saying that some radical religious leader has more of a right to don someone a name than their mother.

His mother gave him that name and typically it is the parents that name someone. You know the people they ask when filling out the birth certificate.

I thought the point of a nickname was to be given one by others. Even "Pacman" said (according to you) that his mother gave him the nickname as a baby. So he didn't have any say in it.

I'll bet anything that this is a hypocritical rant, anyhow. I'm sure you associate with some younger people in your life (or will when you're older) and you call them by their birth name, not the nickname their friends call them. You'd look foolish if you called your nephew "Stinky" or "T-Dog" instead of his real name.

Maybe I shouldn't said religion, I was referring to the fact that, that Cassius Clay and Lew Alsinder changed their names, while Earvin Johnson and Adam Jones simply had nicknames that they are referred to as.
