Adam Schefter: 2023 free agent RB class

I like my RBs like I like my women

Wouldn't mind Jacobs from Vegas. A tough runner with better speed than Zeke.

Only rb worth getting on that list is Barkely. I agree about franchicing Pollard. We know there is almost zero chance of Zeke staying unless he takes a HUGE pay cut. You draft a RB and move on.

I’m sure the Cowboys will look to keep Pollard and either draft or sign a free agent RB to replace Zeke.

I think we keep Pollard and either restructure Elliott (asking him to essentially take a pay cut) or cut him.

Zeke's YPC and YPT are both under 4, continuing a downward trend since 2019. Zeke is over. He's not worth half his salary, this year or last year. Even with a pay cut, we're sure to be paying him too much. Just move on already.

Jerry always moves on a year or two too late instead of a year too early, and with Zeke, it's *years* too late. I wouldn't have even given him the second contract. Should have let him move on and gotten a comp pick for him, especially with the holdout.

Wasting money, wasting snaps we could have used with Pollard, and snaps we could have used developing another RB.

Please just let the waste end next year. No mas.

got a feeling Pollard gets franchised (running back figure is pretty reasonable) , zeke gets let go and we draft a running between rounds 2 and 4.

A decent plan. Almost surely we'll be too stupid for it.

I would resign Pollard and cut Zeke if we can.we can find his production in the draft.

We can’t lose both our RBs. Zeke is as good as gone so we need to try and find a way to keep Pollard and draft or sign a FA RB.

Not so fast on Zeke........I'm 100% confident Jerry and Stephen prefer a complete RB to protect Dak. That almost eliminates Pollard from our price range. I think if Zeke is willing to take a pay cut to $7-8M range, he may return alone with a drafted rookie. But no way in hell I see them giving the starting job to a guy who can't protect Dak.

Don’t think Zeke is going to be willing to take the significant pay cut the Cowboys are going to want him to take. Pollard won’t be the starter he’ll keep his role, they’ll either bring in a FA to start or draft another back. The two biggest plays we’ve had this season were from Pollard.

Meh...when it comes to RBs, I say keep 'em young and keep 'em cheap. If I ran a team, none of them would ever last beyond a rookie contract and they would get lots of mileage in the 3-4 years I would keep them.

At some point that will catch up with you.......it's the exact reason Zeke held out TWO years before his rookie deal ended. I mean it's a nice strategy, just don't expect to get 4 years if he has some serious skin on the wall.

Considering RBs from the draft also, we may be able to keep Pollard. Know some are thinking he's pricing himself out of our range but may be not.

BTW......McCaffrey may also be on this list. Can't see any team picking up his last three years at $12M per

After Barkley i'm not as interested .

rest are 2nd and 3rd tier RBs that i could acquire in the NFL draft with more potential and cheaper ..
and some are nickel- change of pace guys ,, including Pollard.

A Kareem Hunt could help a Buffalo team without giving up a ton in trade compensation, his past baggage puts team on notice.
