Don’t think Zeke is going to be willing to take the significant pay cut the Cowboys are going to want him to take. Pollard won’t be the starter he’ll keep his role, they’ll either bring in a FA to start or draft another back. The two biggest plays we’ve had this season were from Pollard.

I was thinking the same thing until I read the list of free agents. Add that list to what the draft is offering, we may be Zeke's best option, especially if the offer is similar to his open market value.

2023 draft is a strong RB draft class.

If Bijan Robinson is on the board it would be pure stupidity to pass him up.
He is the full package running and RECEIVING for all you say it's a passing league.
Kill two birds with one stone.
He would make this offense unstoppable.

Careful.
A lot of college RBs tend to look so great in college, but brought to just serviceable like in NFL

Many thought Leonard Fournette would be the next Derrick Henry .. Steelers drafted Damion Harris in 1st round but there's nuhtin' about
him that is elite imo.

i'm now on board with those that are against drafting a RB in the first round.
IMO, It's the same with drafting a safety in the first round. They would have to be " generational " blue chip for me
to do so.

And Robinson is not generational, imo.
That's not Bo Jackson .. Eric Dickerson ..

He’s averaging $15 million per season I just can’t see him accepting less than half that amount. Zeke is on the decline, he provides no big plays and he doesn’t finish off runs like he used to. He’s not pushing the pile as good as he did a few years ago. I’m not sure he’s thrilled with the role he has. I agree he’s probably not going to have many options out there but the Cowboys probably feel they could find a quality back who’s a good blocker for a lot less. The Joneses are moving on from high priced players that aren’t producing to the level they expect for the amount of money they’re making. Jerry said on the radio the reason he moved on from Amari Cooper was money.

Also there are some good ones coming out in the draft..kid from Texas and the kid from Alabama are going to be good ones. The kid from UT will go round 1 but the Alabama kid probably second or third.

Remember the days when Zeke was looked at as the next big thing, and Barkley was a bust. Haha

Considering RBs from the draft also, we may be able to keep Pollard. Know some are thinking he's pricing himself out of our range but may be not.

BTW......McCaffrey may also be on this list. Can't see any team picking up his last three years at $12M per

I like the RBs on the list if you put them in the Dallas offense with the holes Zeke gets these guys could get more yardage.

I like the idea of drafting a RB and they should but I wouldn't be upset if they re-sign TP and sign a UFA.

We can’t lose both our RBs. Zeke is as good as gone so we need to try and find a way to keep Pollard and draft or sign a FA RB.

then let them test the market and come back to us
Sign one at the right price and draft one in rds 3/4
RBs should be young these days
I’d be ok with letting both walk and drafting one and signing a cheap option later in FA

Just get a guy that has proven on film to be willing and capable of blocking. Its so important.

Zeke won’t be a free agent. He would have to take a significant pay cut for the Cowboys to even consider bringing him back. If you allow Pollard to test free agency you could lose him. We’ll see how it plays out this offseason.

the only way to get value in a negotiation is to be prepared to walk away

Pollard probably isn’t totally happy with his role. Like the fans he probably feels he should be getting more touches. If you allow him to get to free agency he could walk away.

It never ends well when a player “feels disrespected “ because apparently the only thing that restores that “respect “ is being overpaid

I’m ok moving on from Pollard if he wants to be overpaid

I wouldn't bring McCaffrey to Dallas. Before this season started he has played 10 games the last two years. He is injury prone.

I don’t see anyone overpaying Pollard. He’s a liability as a blocker and he’s not an every down back. You can find good backs in the middle rounds of the draft. I just don’t see him having much leverage. He’ll be splitting carries no matter who he plays for. The teams that have paid big for an RB in recent years have been burned.

I think the Cowboys restructure Zeke to a reasonable contract and resign Pollard in the offseason and people on this board are going to be shocked. Jerry wants Zeke here, Zeke wants to be here and he’s not going to get much on the market if the Cowboys release him.

Against one of the best defenses vs run in NFL, Zeke was dang good.

Cowboys were fools not to lean on him more.

TP is a change of pace back. A great change of pace back no doubt but he cannot be the warhorse that Zeke is.
