Um, no. You don't hear much about New England except that they are cheaters and a laughing stock for 18-1. The Cowboys are in the news all the time, thus the "media darlings" reference.

The Patriots only became known as cheaters once they finally lost to the Giants and Specter finally looked as if he was going to make a splash. During the season, they were all over the Patriots and their greatness. They pushed Spy-gate to the back-ground the whole year, until it finally blew up in their faces and they had to change course somewhat.

As far as the Cowboys being overhyped, maybe they are, but what does past playoff losses have to do with the coming season? You can predict that they will lose in the playoffs again, but saying they're overhyped this year because of how past years ended doesn't make sense. Some things have changed over the off-season. It's not too far-fetched to say this is an improved team.

Yeah, but the same core group of players are there, the same group that always chokes in December. Until Dallas improves in December and wins a pla-off game, they are an 'almost' team.

I lived on one of the Thimble Islands there in the Sound for a summer, great time! And yes, those snapper blues are fierce!

If you had ever heard WIP radio, you would know that is is all eagles all the time. Those knuckleheads that run that station probably goaded both those guys to say what they said. It's no big deal, they do the same thing on NY stations, and DC. WIP is unlistenable in my opinion. I got XM and Sirius so I don't have to hear it.

I don't know why there is all the hatred being thrown at King on this deal. He didn't appear to be trying to put Dallas down only saying that they'd have to go it the hardway cause of playing in a far tougher division than the rest of the NFC.

If we were a wild card team and did what the Giants did last year, going on a run and winning it all, i wouldn't be upset, in the least, with that.

Schefter is the worst part of those "NFLN Top Ten" shows. He's totally out of his element, and has no business speaking authoritatively about players and teams he's not old enough to remember. He's like a kid trying to impress the adults at his parents' dinner party.

Adam Schefter from the NFLNetwork was just on wip610 in Philly. Schefter thinks that the Cowboys are overrated and will have an disappointing season.

To paraphrase what he said is that the Cowboys are the media darlings, being over-hyped for a team that has not won a playoff game in over a decade. He also thinks with all the personalities that this team has, the Cowboys will run into issues that will cost them.

As for Peter King, also on WIP610, said that the NFC East is the best division in football and that each team will beat up each other. The NFC East will not have any team with a first round bye because the Vikes and Seattle will have the first two byes.:laugh2:

Then he goes on saying that the Cowboys will get a Wildcard and sees them doing much of what the Giants did last year. (Again Paraphasing what he said.)

I guess if we all go by what these two morons say, the Cowboys will disappoint and they better look to the 09 FA and draft.

Schefter and Peter King just maybe the worst when it comes to evaluating teams. Neither probably even stepped on the football fields before, except Schefter as the WaterBoy!

Minnesota will not get a bye, if they even make the playoffs. Teams will defense Peterson this year and make the QB beat them. The jury is still out on whether MInny has a playoff caliber QB.

Schefter gets alot wrong. Out here in the Bay area these two sports show host were grilling him regarding Jamarcus Russell's contract and he seemd very upset and insisted that he was right. he eventually got so upset that he hung up on them. By the way, the hosts were right about the contract.
