great news.

benching Adams would be a prelude to benching Drew.

Drew has been bad enough. Do you really have to embellish his dreadful statistics in your sig?;)

He should be put on notice.

He's played like a bum in the two losses.

In fact he was a major contributor in the two losses.

And his problem is not physical - it's mental.

Mental lapses and missed assignments.

When he plays like he's capable, he's a fine tackle and the entire offense looks better.

When he doesn't, the entire offense claerly struggles.

I expect him to rebound with a solid effort against a weak Texans defense but if he doesn't he should sit.

His poor play wasn't confined to just Dallas' two losses. I was lambasted for saying it at the time, but Adams didn't look particularly good against Washington. Carter simply engaged Adams on almost every play. I understand what Washington's way but any other D in the league would have schooled him that night also.

He's really starting to look like Larry Allen of last year. Incredible if he can engage someone, but a real liability if any mobility is required at all.

Well, you know what I think of him.

BTW, good morning Michael.

I'm as big a McQ fan as anyone (obviously), but even I'm a little wary of him playing a lot at this point. The main thing is that, like with a young QB, you don't want him getting his head in the mixer, giving up a few sacks, and losing his confidence.

Then again, as Parcells likes to say, maybe he's a wolf even now. :) BP did mention yesterday that sometime in the near future, he might consider putting McQ in.

I do know that I really, really wish there were a way to get him a few spot snaps here and there so he could get his feet wet. And even on an interim basis, I'd play him over Fabini. I have little to no confidence in Fabini, especially on the left where the ends are even quicker.

Cowboys | Adams could be benched
Fri, 13 Oct 2006 07:19:59 -0700
Clarence E. Hill Jr., of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells left open the possibility that OT Flozell Adams could be benched if his play does not improve soon. The Cowboys could turn to rookie OL Pat McQuistan to replace Adams.

I seriously doubt Adams will get benched unless it turns really ugly. While Pat has all the tools, he is still greener than the spring grass.

What about Bledsoes play?? Im sick of Bill.

If McQ gets to play we'll see a lot of Romo because Bledsoe will be hurt soon after. LT is not the place you want a 7th rd rookie.

sorry about that... hopefully he'll improve the stats. it's also a reminder to the haters how close we are if we have just minimal QB play, everything else unchanged.

Just curious, did McQ get in at all in the Tenn. blowout, or was he inactive?

He's been inactive every week so far... But maybe the release of Suisham and the IR of Hannam will free up a spot for McQ (or Procter) to be active and get a few snaps...

One of the things I've noticed is that this team seems to go on how well both Adams and Bledsoe play. If Adams plays well, generally Bledsoe plays well. And if that happens, Dallas usually does pretty well.

YAKUZA

What I've noticed is if any teams offensive line plays bad, then their team plays bad. This is why I beleive the offensive line is the most important part of the offense. You can have a decent QB perform great if he has time. A prolific QB can tank if he doesn't have protection (ala Bledsoe) It's also why I think the Jets are going to end up coming out of the gutter. (Though that defense needs a lot of work first!)

IMHO, this goes back to training camp. Why did they release Rob P?

I've got nothing against McQ, but he's a green rook.

Cool, thanks.

I'd like him to get on the field some too.

I think after after the utter debacle last year when Flo went down a lot of people forgot he was maddeningly inconsistent even before he got hurt. I'm really hoping McQ is the real deal and can take over next year.

Hmm, I'd say it more likey benefits LBs like Carp and Hoyte. If we didn't carry an extra OL with Gurode coming off an injury then I doubt we will the rest of the way.

Good enough to play 16 games as a rookie.

And be the second worst OT in the league behind Torrin Tucker. He was a starter by default because of Rodgers.

Bottom line despite the offseason workouts he didn't improve much over his first year, and slid from starter to cut over the course of camp.

The team saw more in McQ and Columbo, and needed to keep a vet like Fabini just in case. Odd man out.

well, he's playing no better than a rookie, so what would it hurt?

Anyone could be benched.

We live and die with Flo this season. Let's all remember that he was rusty as hell coming in camp, got hurt, and didn't play much at all until the first regular season game. He stunk it up against Jax and Philly -- but those are pretty good lines. Now if he hasn't gotten it together by game 8 or so, then we've got some serious issues.

He may have been rusty --but He has always play way below his potential.
I have never a fan of Flo because he has always played below his potential
How many times has he stood there and watched his Qb get hammer because a speed rusher blowed by him or he forgot who to block ---good riddance put him on the bench --or better yet put him out the door ----my humble unbias opinion
