I remember during draft time, many people wanted us to draft/sign Adarius Bowman. But because of his slow .40 time and other things he went to the CFL and landed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Well, last night, in his first game he dominated. He had 6 catches for 112 yards and 1 touchdown. His longest catch was 73 yards and he looked like the old Bowman that was pegged to be picked in the first round of the NFL draft before last college football season starts. His speed returned and he was outrunning corners with 4.5 speed.

We'll see him in the league after this season if he keeps that up.

I remember watching youtube on him after hearing the hype in here and I have to tell ya, throw out the times this guy is football field fast. His character is what is preventing him form being in the NFL. With the new rules where teams are going to be fined is going to make it tough for him. Did Charles Rodgers ever make it to the CFL????

He's definitely faster than he timed this offseason. He's ran faster timed runs than that in the past, and obviously he's not slow on the field.

Yeah, yeah...people would always say about Tony, "It's just pre-season. Wait til he plays real football."

I wonder how many players come in and put up stats like that in their first CFL game?

Did you not read the thread before posting? His character is in question. That's what is wrong with that.

Getting kicked out of college for weed and then getting arrested with weed a few weeks before the draft is probably what's wrong.

Actually, no, he didn't put up numbers that good in his first game (or any game in his first two seasons). As far as I can tell he only had one game with numbers that good in his three years in the CFL.

Also, he was never considered a first round pick talent like Bowman.

Have you ever watched a CFL game? Do you know that 75% of CFL players have been drafted by NFL teams, and around 45% of them have made NFL teams.

The CFL is a game of speed, not size. I can guarantee you that there are 5-10 players in the CFL that would be starters on some NFL teams if it wasn't for them being smaller then the average NFLer.

Unfortunately Dallas drafted plenty of CFL all stars in the late 90's and early 2000's :(

What are you, his agent? That's some nice hyperbole.
I'd bet good money that with good health and proper training he could at least run 4.5s, probably break into 4.4s.

It was reported that the offseason before his senior season he was running 4.4s.

Those guys ran before such an emphasis was placed on training for 40 times. Proper training can shave several tenths of a second off your time.

Ted Ginn went from 4.6s to 4.38 after training.

Yeah I've seen some CFL...also know that in my time since beginning to watch football in general that very few CFL players ever amount to anything in the NFL...they are up there for a reason

and as for your speed remark, the CFL's total rosters do not compare anywhere near close to the NFL, or even most major college football....

Not that it matters, but I seriously doubt Bowman could make a 4.4 running downhill while being blown by a tornado

You're right, it doesn't matter that you think that.
