I know everyone is freaking out about trading MP, and rightfully so. Losing a premier pass rusher in his prime hurts and many just can't see beyond that. But the truth is they are fairly deep at DE and MP just wasn't willing to take the deal they offered. Trading him for two 1's and a good player at your weakest position wasn't a bad move. I don't like it, but I do understand it.

But while listening to Jerry's pass conference yesterday, I got a glimmer of hope. I am starting to wonder if they/he have more DT moves in mind? Honestly, when was the last time you heard Jerry Jones talk about the "NEED" to get better at DT and stopping the run as a major priority for this team? If JJ somehow suddenly realizes the importance of having stout DTs, this trade sets them up very well to address the issue.

Getting Clark in the deal is a start. He is a good, veteran DT and he should certainly help the inside run defense right now. Plus, and this is important, he is on a very team friendly deal that pays him peanuts this year and is already set up to be expunged from the books next season.
So with that thought in mind and the extra high end draft capitol they now have, I have to wonder, is JJ going to make another splash move on the D-line in the near future? Are they planning to either flip a few higher picks to add someone now? Maybe, but they may just ride with what they have for this season.
Or could will they wait to use one of the extra 1's to draft a new, stud young DT like Woods, Overton or Corleone next year? I get excited thinking about a possible move like that and what it could mean for this defense and for this team.

On the bright side, I'd say Clark has at least a couple good years left.
I hope he has at least 1 great year left in him. His contract it designed to be cut after this year so I doubt they keep him next year.

Yea I'd like another Hankins type added. mazi can go start his next career at this point.

My hope is Clark is fully healthy then Osa will have that 1Tech next to him he's been needing.

After all the fan favorite cuts they have to cut Winfrey or Toia, right?

That's not what he meant, I heard that press conference the piece you heard wasn't defensive tackle, he meant adding another piece that could be impactful, probably a pass rusher ,It could be a corner ,I mean it could be nothing ,

it could just mean They're thinking about using those draft picks early on someone that's impactful, you know say we get into the season before the trade deadline ,and there's a big hole somewhere, maybe they have the resources now to fill it like we did with Amari Cooper in 2018... That's what he meant he he was just giving scenarios in which the compensation they got will help the team moving forward.

No, we don't need another interior defensive tackle, We have a starting nose tackle we have OSA right next to him and I don't wanna overplay Toia and Mazi but they're now improved because their depth and toia can learn from this guy.. I think it would be smart to invest in another defensive tackle, I think we're here with Thomas rotating in behind Osa giving him a break finally...Winfrey also is there..

I think we're pretty good now until another need pops up..

Actually it's designed for him to be cut in two years He has two very friendly years left and the 3rd year is where he has 18 million come due so the Cowboys can have him for two years before they have to make a decision..

Jerry will extend him and eat the 18m with more on top.

Clark has ego-armor, courtesy of Jerry.

Jerry needs to keep him around a long time and regardless how he performs, he’ll be handled like a foundational piece

Nobody’s going to know what this trade is worth until we use those drafts pics.
Goes beyond that we have to see how this helped the Packers how Parsons plays versus how our team responds without him and yes how we use those two draft picks but then they have to have time to develop correct? This going to be a three year judgment we revisit for dinner it's going to be a ways off..

That's not automatic We still have to see over the next two years as you start falling off a Cliff getting old not playing well but we lucky us we get to see that for two years 1st and it'll determine his 3rd year...

Don't agree with that, That he's puffing this up like a foundational piece ,no, think short term...

the window look think about it prescott contract lamb, diggs ,they're all here but for how long together ,So I'm looking at this as a two year process in which you use the draft picks package the draft picks and then with Clark.. Jerry knows he has the draft picks to go along with this... So he can ride those as foundational pieces.. It frees up money to sign Aubrey Smith and Bland just to name a couple he can use that as well so no he doesn't need to keep Clark around longer to prove a point..

Harry will not keep him past two years just to prove a point i'm sorry but I think him making this move should change your theory on Jerrys not the same Jerry if he was he would have just overpaid and kept Parsons...

I get it but I don't agree with it.

DT is stronger but strong enough? we will see

Clarks was an alternate for all 3 probowl selections, lol, people hyping him are gonna be disappointed. He was only selected to the probowl because the players who were chosen first opted out. Lol

Clark - $2.3M for 2025, $21.5M for 2026, $20M for 2027
*Total contract guarantee was only $17M so he can be cut at any time for a $0 cap hit. Unless he absolutely balls out this year he is for sure a 1 year player.
