Adding even more at DT?

That's not automatic We still have to see over the next two years as you start falling off a Cliff getting old not playing well but we lucky us we get to see that for two years 1st and it'll determine his 3rd year...

Don't agree with that, That he's puffing this up like a foundational piece ,no, think short term...

the window look think about it prescott contract lamb, diggs ,they're all here but for how long together ,So I'm looking at this as a two year process in which you use the draft picks package the draft picks and then with Clark.. Jerry knows he has the draft picks to go along with this... So he can ride those as foundational pieces.. It frees up money to sign Aubrey Smith and Bland just to name a couple he can use that as well so no he doesn't need to keep Clark around longer to prove a point..

Harry will not keep him past two years just to prove a point i'm sorry but I think him making this move should change your theory on Jerrys not the same Jerry if he was he would have just overpaid and kept Parsons...

I get it but I don't agree with it.
Jerry started the entire press conference setting up the trade as Clark vs Parsons. That’s why Clark *must* succeed or at least be perceived as successful.

Jerry has like been criticized for keeping players too long. Consider this is a legacy trade, I don’t think Jerry sees Clark as short term at all.

Now, we as fans, obviously see how the years layout ahead and are already anticipating a cut after 2026. I just dont think Jerry can allow it, due to the investment of his credibility

Don't care what he says I can read between the lines I can understand the big picture... For being Nostradamus and you don't know everything it's time to shut this down i'm not debating this we'll see what happens over the next three years and we'll talk about it we'll have the draft picks we'll see what the Packers are doing we'll see how the Cowboys are affected but right now this is futile you're trying to put words in his mouth that you think his actions are gonna be over the next three years and I'm telling you that's a mistake...

He just said 7 days ago that he would not trade Parsons under any circumstances That's funny he came out and said something and did the opposite...

That's not what he meant, I heard that press conference the piece you heard wasn't defensive tackle, he meant adding another piece that could be impactful, probably a pass rusher ,It could be a corner ,I mean it could be nothing ,

it could just mean They're thinking about using those draft picks early on someone that's impactful, you know say we get into the season before the trade deadline ,and there's a big hole somewhere, maybe they have the resources now to fill it like we did with Amari Cooper in 2018... That's what he meant he he was just giving scenarios in which the compensation they got will help the team moving forward.

No, we don't need another interior defensive tackle, We have a starting nose tackle we have OSA right next to him and I don't wanna overplay Toia and Mazi but they're now improved because their depth and toia can learn from this guy.. I think it would be smart to invest in another defensive tackle, I think we're here with Thomas rotating in behind Osa giving him a break finally...Winfrey also is there..

I think we're pretty good now until another need pops up..
Disagree, he actually said the words we need to stop the run, we need to be better at DT. I'm saying he was admitting he was going to use those picks to get one and nothing else, but I'm saying that he is thinking about making the trenches better, specifically DT. He may not use those 1's to do it, but he may use a 2 or 3 now that he has those in his pocket. .

Actually it's designed for him to be cut in two years He has two very friendly years left and the 3rd year is where he has 18 million come due so the Cowboys can have him for two years before they have to make a decision..
I'm pretty sure it's next year his $ kicks in.

There's a lot of things that we don't know how to figure this all out because they paid a lot of his bonus money up front so if you look at his dead cat money or his overall cap hit a lot of that was already paid.

his base salaries are as follows..

2025-$1.3M absolute STEAL this year(parsons was 24M)
2026- $8,800,000 -still very good...
2027- $18,300,000.. The above savings can make this not so bad..

Guy said the bonus structure how the cap is done is going to be a little bit more difficult for us to figure out what the packers owed and already paid versus what we might pay him..

If he plays well let's just use common sense here..... Looks on the surface as three years $24 million.... But if that $11 million bonus kicks in next year if he's on the roster if that's something the Cowboys have to pay...3 years 35M , 11.6 M per year for quality NT isnt bad at all OSAS making near double that....

That's what this trade did for the Cowboys oh that's right it freed up the money they didn't have to pay 47 million for an edge rusher and now they have some money to throw around..

BTW another option is ,they can renegotiate with him...

Nobody’s going to know what this trade is worth until we use those drafts pics.
If Parsons snaps a femur next week, this deal will look like the unveiling of Einstein’s theory of relativity. There are lots of ways to evaluate this deal.

The compensation could have theoretically been a bit better, but it’s certainly within the realm of reasonability on both ends.

If the Cowboys had traded FOR Parsons, gave up two FRPs, a player AND PAID Parsons $47M per year there would have been lots of complaining about that, and rightly so.

Yes, but my point fact still remains. We’re not going to know until we know everything else is speculation.

Goes beyond that we have to see how this helped the Packers how Parsons plays versus how our team responds without him and yes how we use those two draft picks but then they have to have time to develop correct? This going to be a three year judgment we revisit for dinner it's going to be a ways off..
I knew that,. Just didn’t feel like putting it in writing. But you’re 100% correct we are three years off of knowing

For a team that doesn't like to invest in DT's, it's difficult seeing them spending available salary cap or future draft capital at the position. They like roll with what they have:

Osa
Clark
Thomas
Smith
Toia
Winfrey
Do you honestly think that is a good group of DT's?
