We have Williams & Dez on the outs. I think we need a slot.

We have Beasley in the slot. We need a true burner that can really stretch the field. I know deep balls aren't Romo's strong point, but this offensive is still lacking elite speed in every position.

Honestly wouldn't mind trading back in this draft and picking up Brandin Cooks if Mosley isn't available.

Austin may have been a progress stopper. TWill had less opportunities once Austin returned and his production suffered.

-TWill took 48.56% of snaps prior to Austin's injury.
-That shot up to 83.29% of offensive snaps when Austin was injured/out.
-Once Austin was healthy, that number went back down to 68.05% of snaps.

TWill with Austin out: 3.4 rec/gm, 62yds/gm, .71 TDs per game... [or more impressively represented as 5 TDs in 7 games.]
Twill once Austin returned: 2.5 rec/gm, 40 yds/gm, 0.0 TDs per game [or more depressingly represented as 0 TDs in 6 games].
Great post!

Tony Romo 2013 Passer Rating when throwing to Miles Austin:
22 for 43 (51% completion percentage)
222 yards (5.2 Yards Per Attempt)
0 TDs
1 INT
56.5 passer rating

Some may blame Austin's health, some may blame Austin's effort level, some may blame the quarterback, but whatever the case may be the team was more efficient when Miles was not getting the football thrown in his direction, and I anticipate that being the case in 2014 as well.

The Cowboys should have never signed Austin to that big contract.

Numbers for each receiver, regardless of QB:

Harris: 14 tgts /9 rec/ 80yds /2tds/ 0 ints 119 rating

TWill:
72 tgts/ 44 rec/ 736yds/ 5tds/ 2 ints 107.2 rating

Dez:
156 tgts/ 93 rec/ 1249 yds/ 13 tds/ 3 ints 104.9 rating

Beasley: 52 tgts/ 39 rec/ 368 yds/ 2tds/ 2 ints 90.9 rating

Austin:
46 tgts/ 24 rec/ 244 yds/ 0tds/ 2 ints 49.5 rating

As you can see there is a huge drop off.

And it's a home run. Nice facts.

I was not a fan of Miles moving to LA and taking his summer the way of T.O.
But Miles had health related issues his entire career. The best guys in the business couldn't keep his hamstrings right.

I do think this is addition by subtraction because he was a progress stopper for Terrence Williams.
Miles gave us some phenomenal play but it was in spurts and just as often he'd be out of the game completely.
That type of inconsistency is tough to build around.

TO was always in shape and ready to play.

Well I guess we found our new number 1, move over Dez... Personally I think Romo forced a lot of throws to Austin last season and it was obvious he wasnt healthy. Glad they moved on from the contractt, but we still could use a veteran for insurance
