No, I kind of agree with you too. We've earned the right to be pessimistic about coaching hires at this point. But one thing I like about the Quinn hire is that his scheme fits the majority of the players we have; and we couldn't say that about Nolan.

I’d prefer more experience but All of you saying “country club” hire your buddies blah blah...the entire league is built on people hiring their buddies and people they are familiar with. Been happening for decades- everywhere not just for the cowboys.

The Cowboys will name Aden Durde as their defensive line coach, according to multiple sources. He was with new coordinator Dan Quinn in Atlanta for three seasons, spending the 2020 season as outside linebackers coach. An England native, Durde spent a year with the Cowboys coaching staff as an intern when Jason Garrett was head coach. He replaces Jim Tomsula, who was let go with defensive coordinator Mike Nolan.

Don't know anything about him, but it does concern me some for Quinn to be bringing over members of that staff. Is he doing it because they are his friends/have a relationship or because they are good coaches?

It's a lot like McCarthy throwing Nolan a bone last year. Now, that doesn't mean that Quinn is doing that, so I see no reason to be overly critical of the move.

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I understand fans who look at it like, "I'm supporting the team, EOS....". I mean, I get that but I also get the fan base that is tired of watching and paying for a terrible product. It would be different if we were a small market team where nobody wanted to live. Then, I'd understand the difficulties of actually attracting talent, player or coach. We aren't that market, it shouldn't be hard to attract top line talent.

I guess I'm in favor of fans having a say either way but I'm definitely on the shut up and put up side of the equation at this point.

From what I'm looking at, he played at one point for the London Olympians and worked with the London Warriors before joining the Falcons. I wonder if that's how we were connected to Efe Obada who stayed a bit on our PS before playing for the Panthers. He's been quite good for them. Shame we couldn't keep him.

Ex-London Olympians player. I believe he's the second ex-British league player to coach with the Cowboys. The other is........Sean Payton (ex-QB with Leicester Panthers).

Some posters have expressed concerns about if he has a football background or is from another sport. The Olympians is a well established program - from early 1980s - with both underage and adult teams. He likely played football from a very young age. It may surprise Americans, but there are 120,000 plus players in Europe - many who have concentrated on football from a very young age.
