Ex-London Olympians player. I believe he's the second ex-British league player to coach with the Cowboys. The other is........Sean Payton (ex-QB with Leicester Panthers).
Some posters have expressed concerns about if he has a football background or is from another sport. The Olympians is a well established program - from early 1980s - with both underage and adult teams. He likely played football from a very young age. It may surprise Americans, but there are 120,000 plus players in Europe - many who have concentrated on football from a very young age.
aahhh, no. Payton was in the league and around Football for years before he was given a high profile coaching job. Payton served his time.
Actually played on an NFL team, Chicago Bears 1987. Now, I'm not going to say that this is the end all be all, I don't believe that but, Payton did play the game. Played from the time he was a kid, grew up with it. Played HS ball, started at Eastern Illinois, knew the game. Was an assistant and coordinator in College before he ever got a shot in the NFL. Was a QB Coach in the NFL, for years, before he ever got a real shot. I mean, Payton walked a completely different path, then did this guy and for a lot longer.
