Agree, same goes for linebacker. The only real investments in those two positions are Kneeland/Marist the rest are all on 1 yr stop gap deals.

My biggest concern remains their run defense, they have gotten worse since the offseason started and they were already bad to begin with. DT, LB, DE all are in play.

I would be surprised if Parsons is playing off the ball linebacker, think he is going to be our full-time RE. Like the idea of him playing off the ball, but two DC's already said otherwise.

Kneeland/Turner probably will compete to become the base (run) starter at LE, where the likes of Fowler/Sam Williams will be more of the nickel pass rushers at the position. Do they trust them enough to handle the role?

Right now we have our 3 starting linebackers, but we really need depth at the position along with find a future upgrade over Murray.

I kind of agree, but even if Parsons plays strictly at DE, he's not going to be able to play every snap. I think we'll use Turner and Kneeland at the two end spots some on early downs to keep from wearing Parsons out and allow him to be able to turn it loose on passing downs.

I'd be OK with a trade down if Graham, Jeanty, McMillan, Barron and Johnson are gone. Slide down a little to where those DTs are valued and take Nolen, Harmon or Grant. It would probably need to be no lower than 20.

If there was a run on DTs and they were gone after trading down to 20, I'd be good with Hampton or the receivers there.

Part of the good of that would be getting an extra early pick to address the priority needs. We could get a DT and still address WR, CB and RB by the third round.

Understand. I just feel there are a few others we could use who would be excellent values at 12. However, I don't want to reach for positions of need with lower values at 12 and there are a few positions where the value may be right but I don't want to draft at 12 unless we can't trade down.

I'm not expecting much from Williams. We were hyping him up last year as the reason we could let Fowler go in free agency, but he had never proven he was worth extended playing time and now he's coming off a major injury.

Frankly, I'm glad we brought Fowler back because he gives us a proven pass rusher opposite Parsons. I see those two primarily on the edge on passing downs, with Williams maybe picking up some snaps in relief.

I think 2nd round is the sweet spot for a good DT falling. Someone like Williams or Grant would be my ideal pickup.

We've had players like Odighizuwa, who is a solid player and a really good rotational piece, but the last time we had a major threat at DT was probably when Parcells drafted players like Jay Ratliff and Jason Hatcher (who was an end in his scheme but had nice success when we switched back to a 4-3).

We came close with David Irving, but could get him to care more about the game than pot.

This is why I want Nolen or Harmon in the first because I believe both players can be solid against the run and be disruptive as pass rushers. Outside of Graham, I think they are most likely to make an impact on the interior as disruptors.

I am still on the train back train to either target one of those WR's or DT's unless a T-Mac/Graham fall into our laps.

That was my main concern with it. I wanted Osa back, but I didn't want the signing to make them view DT as a finished position. I kind of feel like with Thomas being added, that is them saying we're finished with that one. Sure, we might add a later-round pick if the player is high on our board, but we're good.

Osa is a difference maker at 3T. Dude had 60+ pressures last year and led the league in QB hits. We need a difference maker at NT.
