I'm not in any way comparing the two of those guys as football players. Demarcus is All-Pro and Hamilton is tryint to scrap his way onto this roster as a UDFA.

The one thing I'd like to talk about is how hard Hamilton hits the QB when he sacks them. He seems to drive right through and just plant them in the ground in a legal manner. Can you imagine how uneasy opposing QBs would be if they thought that Demarcus was going to hit them as hard as he could when he arrives? I really do think he lets up quite a bit when he has a chance to put a shot on the other team's QB. He has to understand that they don't let up when they have a chance to clock Romo and that is part of the way turnovers are forced and games are won.

I'm really pulling for Hamilton to earn a spot. I think he can contribute immediately as a nickel pass rusher. He can learn the rest of the game and his responsibilities as time goes on. He is quite green as he grew up at another position and really only has two years experience at a very small school under his belt as a DE. The things he does just makes me believe he is a natural-born pass rusher and just needs some time to acclimate to the speed and size of the NFL game. But I do think he'll get there as the game does not appear to be too big for him.

So please don't try and get cute and sneak this guy onto the PS. He can contribute right now.

I was really interested even before we signed him. leading the ncaa in sacks with 20+, really impressive, it was just whether or not he could deliver at a higher level of competition, and so far I believe he has. It'll be nice to see him develop, and I'd be furious if he didn't make the team.

DeMarcus is a nice guy. you can call it soft or whatever, but it's the truth. He's not looking to smash opponents, for better or worse. There are lots of guys out there that act like Ware and Hamilton.

fwiw...I prefer guys who smash QBs. Not to say that Ware isn't a tremendous player, but I think a big hit has more impact on a QB than people realize.

...the skillset Cameron Wake had when he came to the CFL.

The NFL completely missed that Wake was a good, coachable football player with pass rush ability.

Hopefully we take a good look at Hamilton despite his small school pedigree.

James Harrison v2 minus fines??

Good comparison. Suggs is another similar player. Hamilton just needs to keep making plays. And Eskimo is right, Hamilton likes to bring the pain, legally.

This kid is going to turn into a real player... Getting to the QB is his specialty.

I could definitely live with that outcome.

I actually really like the idea of putting Hamilton at DT in the nickel right now. I'm not sure if Harrison does that much in the Steelers defense. I know the Giants do this a lot with Tuck. Unlike Spencer and Butler I think Hamilton can be effective without using a lot of open space in his pass rush.

Ware also looks to strip the ball whenever possible. His awareness of the ball may cause him to take a little off of his hits sometimes, but the forced fumble is a definite plus.

Exactly. I would also like to point out that Bob Lilly never tried to hurt anyone and was still an amazing player.

Hamilton made this football team and I am thrilled about it. What a find.

This is who I think of when watching Hamilton. I know he is nowhere near the player Harrison is right now, but he does remind me a little of Harrison when he first came to the Steelers and was a backup to Joey Porter. One criticism I have always had of Ware is that is is too nice when he hits the QB. They don't fear the hit from him like they do from Harrison or from some other explosive pass rushers.

I hope we can find a way to keep Hamilton on the roster and maybe even get him some action in blowouts (we can hope can't we?). With a little experience and some more weight training we may have something here.

Ware does what he does. He will go down as the leading sack artist in NFL history, hallof famer, and ring of honor guy so....he is pretty good . :D Hamilton is a physical guy, which i love to. To find a guy of his calibur from flippin Praire Veiw is a gift from God for real. He could be our starting stongside oslb in a year.

This is just a theory on my part, but maybe Ware lets up just a little bit when he's near the QB so that his body's more controlled and balanced?

It's true that he usually doesn't deliver a knock out blow, but on the other hand, you rarely see him get juked once the QB is in his sight. You sometimes see pass rushers who go full steam ahead whiffing on the sack as the QB slips left or right. You rarely see this happening to Ware.

Again, it's just a theory, but seeing as how he incorporates pilates and martial arts into his training (which preaches being balanced), maybe there's something to it?

:hammer:

Plus don't underestimate the impact of a sack that seems soft, it is no fun going to the ground especially with a extra 265 riding you down.

Go outside and fall down in the grasss, then try it with a 60 lbs concrete bag on your back. After you recover tell us how nice it was, lol.

Why do people feel the need to knock one guy in order to pump up another?
It's not a knock, but an observation.

Ware gets a lot of sacks. Hitting people takes a toll on your body. If he drove through the QBs, he could possibly be very injured right now. I like how he plays. He reminds me of Emmitt. He does his job, but at the same time, does everything he can to keep himself safe and healthy.

I mean what good is he to the team if he makes one outstanding hit, but is on the sidelines for the rest of the game or season?

BTW, have you seen DeMarcus? The guy is solid muscle. I don't care if he lightly tapped you or runs full throttle into you, you are going to feel pain either way.

As far as Hamilton, Hell yes he is on the team and he is a beast....in fact, once he becomes a regular in the rotation, I want his nickname to be "Beast"

"Beast" Hamilton

Let the Beast feast on the NFC East

Actually, what Hamilton did last night was not legal.

He drove Clemens into the ground

I loved it because Kellen Clemens started the "we will rue the day" we didn't get him stuff.
