Charles Robinson reports Adrian Peterson's agent refused a dinner meeting with Vikings GM Rick Spielman at the NFL owners' meetings.
This is turning into a messy divorce. Peterson's camp has been at odds with Minnesota's front office since the Combine and it doesn't look like the two sides will ever see eye-to-eye again. The Vikings seem to be in denial about Peterson's future with the team. A trade to the Cardinals seems more likely by the day.

Hey it's Friday and even though this says a trade to the Cards appears likely we all know he is going to be released and become a Cowboy!!

Refuse to play for the Cardinals. Let it be known right now. Force your way to Dallas.

IIRC Peterson can reject any trade because he has 5 years tenure in the league. I could be wrong but I've read that somewhere. Can anyone confirm/deny? Thanks in advance.

what's interesting about this Arizona discussion is that listening to the Cardinals insiders here in Phoenix they all say they'd be interested but not unless it was for as high as a 3rd or 4th round pick would they really start considering it.

there has been nothing out here in AZ to suggest they'd be willing to part with anything in the first 2 rounds

He can't refuse a trade, but he can refuse to redo his contract. And with him being due $40 million plus over the next three years, any team trading picks for him would almost certainly want to do a new contract. The only way I see him ending up with us is if he absolutely refuses to do a new contract for every team, including the Cardinals. And that would still entail taking less money to play in Dallas, because I just don't think Jerry and Stephen will even get close to what the Cardinals or a couple other teams are willing to pay him. Still very unlikely he ends up here I'd think.

I should add that the market will be over priced for his services. So the members on this board are desperately pleading for something that will never happen.

As I've said all along, the Vikings are just doing a dog and pony show trying to make other teams believe they will keep him when in fact, they will probably have to release him and get nothing in return. No way he is staying in Minn. Their sponsors would throw another fit even worse than before. They can't trade him because no team is going to pickup his current salary-----would have to have AP renegotiate and he is not going to do that for Arizona, or whoever. Dallas has the inside track still-----they gotta stick to their guns.

AP and his agent don't want to play along with this farce and know they really are not serious. They are probably trying to convince him to renegotiate with a willing trade partner. He ain't gonna do it.
