IIRC Peterson can reject any trade because he has 5 years tenure in the league. I could be wrong but I've read that somewhere. Can anyone confirm/deny? Thanks in advance.

He can reject any trade by refusing to re-negotiate a contract that no one - including the Vikings - is willing to pay him.

As I've said all along, the Vikings are just doing a dog and pony show trying to make other teams believe they will keep him when in fact, they will probably have to release him and get nothing in return. No way he is staying in Minn. Their sponsors would throw another fit even worse than before. They can't trade him because no team is going to pickup his current salary-----would have to have AP renegotiate and he is not going to do that for Arizona, or whoever. Dallas has the inside track still-----they gotta stick to their guns.

AP and his agent don't want to play along with this farce and know they really are not serious. They are probably trying to convince him to renegotiate with a willing trade partner. He ain't gonna do it.

Dallas has the inside track still, to draft a rb.

I should add that the market will be over priced for his services. So the members on this board are desperately pleading for something that will never happen.

I heard this same nonsense when Greg Hardy's name was brought up too.

Although any of the fools who did will now never admit it.

One down, one to go...

Be a Cowboy? With what money?

Do you understand how much cap flexibility we have right now?

I'd rather draft a young guy at a fraction of the price. The o-line will take care of Gurley or Gordon.

The team is already getting hammered for signing Hardy. It would be considerably worse if they get AP as well.

1) we have about a two year window before we have to go trough the entire find a QB fiasco. We don't have time to wait for A RB to learn how to pick up a blitz and learn an NFL system.

2) Hammered by who? The press? Some bloggers? Who cares? Look, I can't stand what AD did to his kid, he's an abusive farther, who hopefully had time to get therapy. But I'm all for giving a guy a second chance , as long as he is getting the help he needs. If AD did, and has changed, bring him in!!! He wants to be here, and you know JJ wants him here.

There has been talk about SD, Tampa Az and Dallas..

What makes him say No, to SD or AZ. Both those teams are legitimate playoff teams next year?

Why would he say No to those teams and Yes to Dallas?

I could think of a few reasons. Our Oline. He is from Texas. And he just like the Cowboys.

But that is just me guessing. Has he made it clear in anyway that he wants to be a Dallas Cowboy first and foremost?

This would be awesome. Just awesome. Pay him. Pay him 12 mill a year if you have to. 2 year contract.

Well, they can kind of cancel each other out :)

Might as well take the lumps at the same time!

There is a difference between Hardy and Peterson.

We'll see. The same know-it-alls swore we had no interest and would never sign him either. They're still wiping the egg off their face.

People can not agree with acquiring him and convince themselves it will 'never happen', but until his situation is resolved, I will continue to believe that the possibility exists. And each report like this one increases the likelihood in my opinion.

Refuse to play for the Cardinals. Let it be known right now. Force your way to Dallas.

Force? What is he going to hit them with his switches?

Don't worry about the money for plane ticket to Arizona.

I'll pay. One way ticket.

I agree with you. Not about Hardy part though, we can weather that crap.

I was fairly confident we would sign Hardy. However, I am certain we wont sign Peterson.

They will have the money even last night Rappoport said the team to watch with AP is the cowboys and IF they want him they can make it work financially...he is coming....

Again, no way Peterson settles for 5-6 mil per year. Dallas isn't paying him more than what they offered Murray. And there has been NO report that Dallas is interested anyways.
