Adrian Peterson's "agent" refuses meeting with Vikes GM

Just for comparison sake

Emmitt Smith

30 years old - just about 1400 rush yards
31 years old - 1200 rush yards
32 years old - 1000

Put me down for Peterson having a MINIMUM of two monster years left in...EASILY, if he's playing behind this line

GO GET HIM!!!!

And Emmitt was running behind a mediocre OL at that age. Good comparison!

where's Harriet Tubman? Poor AP, NFL slavemasters are so evil to pay him $15 million and then ask him to honor his contract.

PS. before anyone gets spun up, the above is a dig on AP's famous quote near the players strike about how the NFL is "like modern-day slavery" which most of us folks who have normal jobs which will never pay us anywhere in the ballpark of $15 million cumulatively in our entire working careers let alone a single season.

I fixed what I could, but there is no fixing . That statement was a disaster from start to finish. You need only look at the years following the Cowboys last Super Bowl appearance and research the reason behind the Cowboys mediocrity throughout those years to understand why.

We aren't signing him long term. I would think 2 years, pay him 9-12 mill a year and be on the hook for no money come year 3. After we have won 2 Super Bowls. And if we do end up with dead money, make sure its not a crippling amount....

I understand the argument of being conservative, etc etc, building a team long term...
And I think we have been doing that for the last 2-3 years.

But when you see a chance, you have to take it! Just becuase we have failed before doesnt mean it will fail this time. You can't lose your edge.

I think the biggest gap in thinking about signing AP is Romos window.
I believe we are going to go through a few years, if not more, after Romo is gone, where the situation at QB will keep us from making a SB run. Its the QB in this league that is a must. You have to have a QB, and it might take some time to find that QB..... Maybe not, maybe we find with our first attempt....?

I don't want to wait for when Romo is gone... I want to push this year and the next 2....

or I wouldn't even think about taking a chance on AP. I would draft a rookie and hope for the best................

Greg Hardy should be recruiting Peterson...

Now I know Peterson isn't a FA, but still...he should be pushing Peterson to not only force his way out of Min, but to come to Dal

Two players who basically missed all of last year...I'm sure they both feel like they got screwed, whether that is true or not...

They have something they can both relate to and hardy/dal should use that to their advantage!

Cowboys are not going to give him 9 to 12M. I can see 6 to 8M no more.

Not for anything over 5 mil.

Your sig is in credible. Those guys look like they could still line up and play.

Dallas only offered Murray 6. No way they pay a 30 year old rb higher than that. If that.

What? Yeah right...he's 30...not 40

He doesn't have another elite year or two? Of course he does

If dallas is offering that scrub Murray 6ish...peterson is worth 33% more than that, easy...short term

Minneapolis, MN is 1007 miles away from Peterson's hometown of Palestine, TX. Phoenix, AZ is 1165 miles away from Palestine. :D

I did not know that. Thanks for letting me know. How far away is Palestine from Dallas?

I think most everyone outside of Minnesota knew it already.

And you know that they've figured it out now?

Bottom line, they've been paying that much and have the cap space. There's no reason to assume that they will be unwilling to pay until they actually don't.

Furthermore, if AP won't restructure they'll be paying it. If they won't trade him, they'll pay him.
