Exactly. There's gotta be someone that doesn't like him. I mean, we don't know anyone on the team that doesn't, but surely there's someone! Anyone!

Well if you consider the Owner/GM a part of the team, I guess that's one.

Please...I liked having TO on the team and he helped our offense for two years, but it was NOT all media.

TO is a basket case. To think otherwise is to be delusional. He seems to have a big heart, and he loves football and works hard at it....but he's a wacko, a nutjob, bi-polar, delusional, eccentric, CRAZY.

It was TO who overdosed on whatever he was taking (my guess is he takes medication regularly for his mental state)...he is up and down all the time...he's almost never level for two weeks straight.

It was TO crying like a baby about "my QB"...looking like a total idiot.

TO craves the spotlight and he cannot avoid a microphone shoved in his face...he says whatever is on his mind, honestly, but his mind is NOT RIGHT.

If TO was a normal, mentally healthy guy, he might actually be pushing Jerry Rice as the 2nd best WR of all time.

He will still have a good year for someone this NFL season, but the guy is a little crazy (not his fault) and it eventually polarizes a locker room and a staff and a fan base. He doesn't orchestrate it or intend for it to happen...he cannot help himself.

I like Terrell Owens...an incredible athlete, one of the greatest smiles you'll ever see on a guy...he is genuine and honest and probably a good friend, but....

TO IS NOT NORMAL...HE HAS SERIOUS, UNCONTROLABLE MENTAL OR PERSONALITY ISSUES. Anyone who denies that fact is wearing blinders, imho.

No, he has a personality you don't like. Serious mental and personality issues are things like bi-polar disorders. And Jerry has signed them in the past.

haha...IF you read the post, I do like TO, but that doesn't mean he isn't CRAZY...I think it's pretty clear, and I'd bet he lives on medication. However, despite good production, he wears on a team through the media onslaught if nothing else.

For those who think Owens is a victim, does it make sense that he is the same victim on every team on which he plays? In every case, SF, Phil and Dal, he gets cross ways with coaches and one group of players and there is always another group of players who don't see a problem. Whether the guy is just speaking his mind, picking a fight, or bashing someone to the media there is obviously a problem with Owens' personality which creates major locker room problems in every case.

Whatever you believe it's been the same conclusion on EVERY team on which he's played. He gets booted and there is ALWAYS a group to stick up for him and another who says "don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya." Every time.

You know Jerry, do you really think he would have booted Owens and taken the huge cap hit if there were no problems? Hell no he would have not.

TO has had friends whereever he played -- the issue has never been that he's not likeable. He has no problem with players who are not at his level. He's very generous with those guys.

TO's issue has ALWAYS been that he's gotta be the big dog. He doesn't like other players having the spotlight. He doesn't like being told to do X when he wants to do Y. His conflicts are commonly with coaches, other star players, and their mouthpieces. Honeymoon was over here and stuff was going to get worse.

Oh I read your post, and I think it is stupid. He simply has a personality you don't like. There is nothing to indicate he has mental and psychiatric disorders, nor are you a person in a position to judge.

:lmao2:The media forced the Cowboys to cut T.O. and eat millions of dollars in dead money? That makes zero sense. Last I knew, T.O played for the Dallas Cowboys, not ESPN. Let me break it down for you.

The two opinions within the Cowboys organization were:

-Some coaches and players liked T.O.
-Some coaches and players did not like T.O.

Now I don't know how many people liked him than disliked him or vice versa. But I do know that he pissed off the people who matter most in the organization. And I'm not sure who those people are. But that's all it took.

As far as an athlete, the guy is great. I have no arguments there. Overall, his stats are sensational. But his sensational stats nor his attitude assured him a roster spot on the team.

The media gives high-profile figures copious amounts of air time. Does their coverage ultimately force owners to act of their (media's) opinions? No.

I disagree. The media could say what they want about Owens and that would be fine but when it explodes and starts harping on your franchise player thats when your forced to change. Thats what happened. Romo was brought into the whole TO vs the media and you cant have your QB thinking about it.

Actually TO does so some patterns that are attributable to bipolar disorder.

The initiation of a cycle is usually triggered by a stressful event. I think the beginning of the season is a good candidate for that. It begins with a period of overactivity. Heightened, manic, it does not matter. It sometimes manifests as anger particularly directed at other people. This typically lasts for about a few weeks to a month and then is quickly followed by a severe depressive episode.

You can look to the beginning of the 2006 season for that. Suicide attempt occurred at the end of September. this plast sesaon his play plateaued at the end of September as well.

Now I am not saying he has the disorder but he definitely has signs that he might.

I have a co-worker who's from T.O.'s home town. She said his mother (can't remember whether it was his mother, grandmother or aunt. I'll ask her Monday) would walk the street in a daze, suggesting she had a mental disorder.

When she told me that, and I observed T.O.'s behavior throughout his career, it leads me to believe he might be bi-polar. Extreme mood swings and they-love-me, they-hate-me conspiracy thoughts are traits of bi-polar disorders.

It's always been pretty obvious that he was being caught because even when he didn't bring things on himself his reputation and previous actions were always going to bring a circus and drama with them from the media. It's gets annoying, and old, and it can't be avoided.
