Maybe we will stay healthy during the season, and maybe our defense will play well enough to allow us to win some games, but....

Right now our DL is so bad, I'm not sure how you can evaluate our LBs.
Our backups on the OL are so putrid, it's hard to evaluate the RBs and Weedon.

On top of that, the only CB good enough to actually play during the season won't be there in the first four games.

What better happen if we hope to be in contention in 2nd half of season:

1. Our top 6-7 DLmen better stay healthy because most of the youngsters are not showing up.
2. We better hope the LBs and DBs on skates look a lot better behind that starting DL.
3. We need Carr and Claybourne healthy and playing well.
4. Free and Smith need to play all 16 games...nothing behind them.

How can you tell much of anything? We have sat so many guys it's hard to tell what we will be like.

Lack of depth seems to be a real issue for this team. There was a time I thought Parnell would unseat free. Right now he looks like the last shift burger flipper at Burger King .

Keep in mind that Bernadeau is likely going to be our first back up offensive lineman period. If anybody gets hurt the remaining offensive lineman will shuffle to compensate. This means that Martin will move to tackle and Bernadeau will start at guard if one of our tackles gets hurt.

I don't really buy the notion that pre-season doesn't matter much. I think it matters a little more than some people think, and a little less that some people think. For the Dallas Cowboys, I think we have to treat one and a half of these pre season games like they are the real deal. If not, we go into the season with no continuity whatsoever.

Hasn't that always been the problem for the Cowboys? To many misses in the draft and no real scheme have been killing the future of the team forway to long. It's been hard to get excited about this team since 2007-09. and before that it was really bad.

I'm just glad I saw the Cowboys back in the days of Tom Landry then Jimmy Johnson. Waiting on Jerry to deliver is futile.

All I see is an 11-5 team w/ a SB offense!

I can't wait until we beat the 9ers then maybe the pessimist will cease!

Haven't been this giddy about a team ready to shock the world since before the start of 2014 finals!

I felt the same about the 2004 steelers. Awful in exhibition season: they only finished 15-1

BS. A lot of those playing now are fighting for either starting jobs or rotational positions. And they don't look very good. Think on that.

I seem to be the only one thinking. I see Flacco and the first string ravens offense drive on our third and fourth stringers. I also realize that much of our depth guys started the game and many of our starters were sitting. We also have quite a few backups that are out.

Right now, I see our third and fourth string do very well against their third and fourth string.

One also has to remember that we scored a TD with our starting offense and quickly say them. The backups to the backups on defense got no help from our second offense.

Really difficult to evaluate the defense you'll see on Sundays when so many key guys are out. The defense is questionable to begin with. The depth is poor. If this defense is going to have a chance at being competitive, the unit has to remain healthy.

Id love if both teams replayed this and played O and D 1st strings vs 1sts, 2nds vs 2nds etc. i think the Cowboys were better at each level.

After 2 games only thing I have gotten from this is that we have no depth. But if they stay relatively healthy they may not need it. But staying relatively healthy in the NFL is luck in itself.

The defense did play better than last week at least our starters did. It's hard to tell how good they are. The Ravens offense was out of sync for having to wait an hour to play. At least the third stringers 's came to play in the 4th quarter. That was something. I still don't think the defense will be all that great though.

you do get it that our current scheme relies on rotating players in constantly. A lot of those were playing tonight and last week and they stank it up.

Terrell McClain
Henry Melton
Brandon Carr
Morris Claiborne
Sterling Moore

All starters or key guys that sat.
The guys that started tonight played about two series before sitting. Church sat pretty quick, Scandrick sat quick, Durant sat quick, Carter sat quick. We then stuck in Mitchell paired with Webb (one of them gets cut) and that's when Flacco and Co moved the ball. Most of our third and fourth string were in against the Raven first and second string. We never really played a second string tonight. They were pressed into starting roles. Some second string didn't play at all.
