After watching this MEDIOCRITY tonight, I'm convinced that the Lombardi Trophy really is Dallas' for the taking in 2009. I really do think that if this group of talent ever decides to focus o that one common goal to win a Super Bowl, and does the offseason work to get on that page and stay on it during the regular season, then there's NO doubt in my mind the Cowboys can win next year's Super Bowl. In fact, if Jones plays this right we can even be onto a Dynasty because the last few playoffs have really showcased the worst string of Super Bowl contenders and winners in the league's history. I really do think the Cowboys are "that much" better, talent-wise. They just need to decide that's it's time to go "take" it and not just "talk" about it, because it is ours for the taking.

Carry on... :cop:

The Cards have the best WRs and Pitt has the best defense...we aren't head and shoulders above them.

I wish the Cowboys would, however...

The extremely potent offense of the Cardinals would rip through us, and they did.

The extremely physical defense of the Steelers would crush us, and they did.

What?

You need to worry about us being a contender, which we arent, and winning a playoff game, which we havent.

Im sick of this talk about how much talent we have. One 13 win season and a bunch of inconsistent players doesnt prove we're as talented as people wanna make believe.

We were a contender last year. This year we were a pretender.

Sadly its all about coaching and leadership. Which we ain't got.

Stupid statement.
Stupid response. 9-7 two of the last three seasons and not winning a playoff game in 13 years is not a contender. You're gonna harp on one 13 win season to prove we're legit?? The Colts went 13-3 in 99 and were crap years afterwards.

Yeah, #1 seed last year and one game out of the playoffs this year. We're definitely not a contender.

Like I said, stupid statement. Keep 'em coming. I'm sure you're full of them. Just like your Colts statement. They had one bad season after that 13-3 season. Other than that they went to the playoffs 8 of 9 seasons.

What?

Did you watch the games? The Cardinals game should have been won, the defense didn't step up. They beat us in overtime on a special teams play. As for Pittsburgh, their defense definently didn't rip through ours. We had put up more points than them midway through the fourth quarter. Our defense layed down their in the final minutes and Pittsburgh hit those opportunities. BOTH games could and should have been won.

1. Quit catching feelings with your homerism. You dont deserve to call yourselves a contender if you cant win a playoff game.

2. They were not as good as their record and they went back to the playoffs with a new coach.

And....were not. So what is your point.

These coulda/woulda games work on teams who lose on fluke deals one in a 100 times, but with us, that is our MO. Thats what we do. If it isnt a complete give up effort (see St Louis or Philly) it is a Romo turnover, or a special teams f up, or a defensive meltdown, its something.

It is so common....that is honestly defines us. So you cant say, "well if this hadnt happened, or that, then we shoulda won"...because those things did, and do, and will continue to happen to this team. B/c that is who we are.

1. No feelings here, just pointing out stupidity when I see it.

2. Gosh, the playoffs? I thought they were crap for years after that 13-3 season. Or so I hear. But of course, that new coach didn't get to the Super Bowl for 6 years. Fans like you would have turned on him much much sooner than that.

What?

The Cardinals ripped through us???.......I thought we went to OT in their backyard and lost on a punt block. That is considered getting ripped in your book???

The Steelers defense crushed us???........We had a 10 point lead with like 3 mins left in Pittsburg during a snowstorm. That is considered being crushed in your book???

Whoa dude, I think you need to check your facts before your next post, seriously. You act like Zona and Pitt beat us 60-0, whats up with that???

My point had nothing to do with winning/losing those games. I was making the point that the Cardinals offense didn't rip us, nor did the Pittsburgh defense crush us. Both were close games. That could have gone either way. But you're right... It's tough to find the Cowboys playing a good game on all sides of the ball and when you think about it, a lot of games we did win we could have lost. So it comes from both angles.
