That was such a BS penality vs Miami. If the guy catches that ball people would have complained why didn't he make the tackle. It was a bang/bang play. And a play I applaud the guy for making. That is something good coaching can fix. (hit the guy lower) A guy having the instincts to be over there in the first place to make the play...that all natural...And something the Cowboys should embrace. But no......Gotta find an excuse to keep Jeff Heath. Talk about a team having an agenda...It's beyond absurd now.

It contributed to him being let go, and it's part of the reason he's out of work right now and not on a team after being waived by the Cowboys. If there's any talk about absurd agendas to be had, well, it's not related to the team as far as this player is concerned.

He's out of work now, fwtw. Passed on an 8th time by every single team in the league. But I'll leave you to indulge in your fantasies about his ability and his alpha status. Perhaps it will work out for him down the road when he learns to play smarter, cover better, and to show up for his team meetings more regularly.

I guess there was a pretty good party in Waco Sunday night according to Broadus. Dixon was there with RG3 and I believe Broaddus says T Williams. (check the 25:50 mark)

Williams made it back in time....Dixon showed up late Monday Morning.... probably hung over.

I saw this coming long ago. Ahmad is undisciplined on and off the field. In today's NFL, the pro's can't operate like that. He was going to eventually get some one hurt. I applaud the decision to cut him.

Dixon is the kind of guy you like in that he will give it his all and he will play with reckless abandon.

However he is also the type of player that you don't like in today's NFL and College football where the rules are geared against the type of player he is just known for going for the big hits and kill shots which always seem to land him, and his team, in trouble with the penalties.

Furthermore...he is not good enough with the rest of his game to overlook the problem.

Bottom line I don't know many NFL HC who will tolerate a so so player the luxury of showing up to meetings when they feel like it. Belicheck demands and expects player to be on time. Our former HC was the same if you were a fringe player you better be on the straight and narrow because they will not cut you any slack.

In addition, Dixon was irresponsibly late not just once but twice even after missing a game for the first violation. He was apparently out living it up late and was late to team meetings on Monday.

This is the main reason he is gone, not simply because he popped a player without remorse.

If you can not show up consistently to practice and meetings, you gotta go!

Baylor played SMU in their new stadium Sunday and Dixon was there along with RGIII (who gave the invocation and led the band at halftime) and other prominent football alums. The party lasted until the wee hours of the morning. I got home at 2:00am so I can only imagine what time Dixon got home.

I was there with the Baylor Bear boosters (not at the party but where the alums meet and greet potential recruits) and RGIII, Williams, and other players left at a reasonable time. I don't dislike Dixon but I am glad he is someone else's problem.
