Ahmad Dixon Cut

Is this a trick question? o_O

No trick. lol I was hoping to see Dixon make the team but if what is being said that he was once again late to a meeting is true and after already getting in hot water for being 45 min late earlier in pre season then Garrett did what many others would have done and that is release him

Jimmy would have had Tui and Big E give him the business before releasing his butt.

As a former Baylor Bear Booster, I did not like the lad. That is all I will say.

Jimmy did not do that with backups when they feel asleep in meeting, they got cut. On the other hand Emmitt was known for falling asleep in meetings but Jimmy was not going to make an example out of Smith. I always loved when people talked about the fear of Jimmy, well that depends were you a player hanging on or a star player? because Jimmy may have wanted to send a message to the bench players but was not stupid when it came to top players

Jimmy always said that he did not treat everyone the same. I like that; you had to earn his trust/respect.

I agree. Leon Lett made some dumb mistakes but Jimmy was not going to cut him. Guys like Curvin Richards did not get much of a 2nd chance. I don't know about trust or respect as much as Jimmy was not going to cut players he knew where talented.

By the way, those bagging on Heath might want to consider that he is faster, stronger and has a better vertical than Dixon. By physical talent, it's not close which is better.

By the way, is this on target or what?

WEAKNESSES: Needs to consistently wrap on tackle attempts and not just hit his target...plays wild and needs to stay under control and balanced to make consistent stops...stiff midsection and hips, inhibiting him from quickly changing directions...struggles in man coverage to find the ball and keep his feet moving to stick with targets downfield...awareness is still a work-in-progress, too often he is a step late to the play against the pass - too many incorrect reads with questionable diagnose skills...suspect ballskills and doesn't make enough plays on the ball...undisciplined striker and will get flagged for targeting and head-hunting, going for the knockout blow...needs to keep his wits and stay under control, both physically and emotionally

Great move! This defense has absolutely no room for guys who make plays and tons of tackles.

RKG<player with talent

How about a guy who head hunts, gets penalties, and says it's just the way he plays and won't change?

Easy to use one side of the story.

A guy makes a couple big hits and is a stud to some....who can't see the blown coverages, the penalty flags and the time bomb waiting to explode.

Somewhere Norm Hitzges is thinking, "So we cut off our Dixon, gave Cleveland the Byrd and ended up getting a Toomer. No wonder this team can't win." :D

Yes, Norm loves his play on names that he does around draft time.

Don't make me bust out the real hyperbole.

You know you wanted to say 'Johnson' there instead of 'Dixon.'

Guys, Dixon was just passed on by all 53 teams, unless there is some unreported claim. Maybe he makes another teams practice squad? Maybe there's a talent deficiency? His combine sucks. His tape in coverage (NFL and college) sucks. This guy was an illusion. He can tackle after a catch. Hooray!

I have to say I wasn't too big on Dixon after his "explanation" about the hit he was penalized and fined on... It came off sounding like, "Yeah, I did it and I'll do it again because that's who I am."

There's a difference between aggressive and stoopid.

I think it's the same reason that Mitchell found himself out on the street.

That was such a BS penality vs Miami. If the guy catches that ball people would have complained why didn't he make the tackle. It was a bang/bang play. And a play I applaud the guy for making. That is something good coaching can fix. (hit the guy lower) A guy having the instincts to be over there in the first place to make the play...that all natural...And something the Cowboys should embrace. But no......Gotta find an excuse to keep Jeff Heath. Talk about a team having an agenda...It's beyond absurd now.
