Aikman doesn't know if it's accurate that the HC of the Cowboys is a coveted job

Sorry buddy but we do know...Stephen will step in. Things could get even worse.
I don't see Stephen as having the same stomach of running everything like his old man. In fact the way he talks about football seems more like he is only there because of his old man. I would be willing to bet that Stephen would be open to hiring a GM and freeing up his time to enjoy the life of an owner more.

Completely disagree that it’s not coveted.

…It’s one of 32 lucrative paying jobs.
….The expectations aren’t as high as they used to be as the owner celebrates just making the playoffs.
…. The roster isn’t horrible. It has a decent amount of talent (no nfl roster is perfect).
…… the prestige that would come along with turning this thing around would be incredible.
Its like a Browns or Jets or Jaguars job

You can find 2 quality players on every roster. It’s not a matter of coaching them when Jerry is calling the shots. Imagine every press conference surrounded by Jerry and his moron kid. Raiders and Jags definitely have more coaching freedoms without a meddling owner!
Thats one side of the coin. The other side is that if you get the job with the Cowboys, you are almost guaranteed to at least get 5 years (coach the entirety of the contract).

How many coaches have the Raiders and Jags had since 2000 compared to the Cowboys?

Antonio Pierce was given one year by the Raiders.

Doug Pederson was given three years by the Jags

Let's hope that's true.

Yall will sit here and agree with it because Troy said it. Its nonsense.

So a hc candidate would rather go coach the Raiders or Jags over the Dallas Cowboys with the chance to coach Ceedee Lamb and Micah Parsons?

LOL
When next season starts the Cowboys, Jaguars, and Raiders will all have new head coaches. Let’s see which of the three secures the services of the least capable candidate.

All this dead coaching money. The horror!!!

The only guy is complaining is the only one calling it a problem.

Better to just throw away seasons, right Jerry?

Yes, but for the real top notch guys the guys with real options, Johnson as an example, these guys are not going to make the Cowboys their first stop. They just won't.

They can pick and choose and will look for stability and commitment to winning, they will not see that in Dallas.

All true, but the GREAT coaches who know they have greatness inside of them and won't compromise it for ANYONE...do NOT covet this job. I turned to my buddy - Raiders fan - years ago and said, "I like Dan Campbell...damn we need that in Dallas." Look at what he did in Detroit...a city that makes Dallas in the 80s look like paradise.

Any man who has that confidence inside him does not compromise for a goofy like Jerry. See Jimmy.

Sean Payton made 10 million more per year then Big Mike. Big Jerry doesn't just meddle. He is also quite cheap when it comes to paying coaches.

PS. Maybe he should also coach the Cowboys and get it out if his system.
