Aikman has always come across to me as a Cowboys hater ever since he became a commentator. Maybe he doesn't want to seem biased but he goes overboard. I'd rather Johnston did the job but he doesn't have Troy's status so...
This

The simpletons on this thread wouldn’t know a football if it hit them their groinage.

Aikman has never ever felt Dak was an elite QB.

It killed him to compliment Dak - it burned him to watch JJ celebrating.

Dak was up 12-0 and Troy said he still didn’t look right .

He was begging for interference calls on Dallas .

Really sickening
I'm sorry did not get that sense.

This is one of the worst takes I've seen on this board in a long time. Troy is typically pretty spot on when it comes to Dak.

The Cowboys were up 12-0, but I agree with Troy that at the time Dak wasn't completely locked in. He started the game very shaken and got better and better.

Just because Troy isnt Michael Irvin and calls games how he sees them doesnt make him a hater.
I also want to 2nd that notion. Some of the passes were still a bit "off". Some decisions looked panicked.

Then, as you say...he really locked into the game Nice job settling in. Thrilled with some of his runs.

I didn't get that vibe from him at all yesterday. He called out his struggles from last week and how Dak was moving too fast through things (which many would agree with), but then called out how he was finally settling down and how great he was playing as a result of the game finally slowing down for him.

LOL I am confused with some people's take on Aikman and think he "hates" on the Cowboys. This thread is a great example of WTH.
People come up with what they think is very clever.....come here for validation. Get disappointed. Get mad. Proclaim their expertise and everyone else is an idiot.

Poor Dak.
They’re always gonna fly in to coddle him. He played the best game of his career last night. I’ll give him that. Let’s wait and see what he does Sunday vs a real SB contender. I hope he plays well because I’m a Cowboys fan.

Troy is a big fan of Dak's, all you have to do is listen to any interview he does on the radio.

His job is to give an analysis of the game, not be a cheerleader.
I fully believed that back in the early days after his career he was unfairly harsh on Dallas QBs. The Quincy Carters, Hutchinsons, and Testeverdes. I even thought he had some undue criticism of Romo.

I always took it as a "how can this be what we have now?" type of situation. Romo aside (and I even had a mocking Romo sig pic at once. "Turnover Tony" was the bolded font around 2008), he was just calling it how it was. The rest of those guys just sucked and he didn't have any sort of chip on his shoulder about those that took over for him.

Troy is one best out there.

ESPN has pushed Aikman to be more wordy and more opinionated. It is obvious if you watch no-Cowboys games on ESPN.

The good news is that it means less time for Joe Buck to talk.

I watched the interview with Troy and SVP after the game and it seems like Troy is holding back how much he actually likes the Cowboys and this team. Odd thread.

I think he’s constantly praised Dak for a long time. The penalties he pointed out were legit but thankfully not called

Actually it's rich Dak....that's why many don't like him.
This is only partially true. No one gives two spits about how much money Dak is paid. It's the fact he was paid more than Brady with no accomplishments to show he earned it.

At least now he has finally won a playoff game since the big pay day.... only took him 3 years.
