Aikman is a total league sellout

If you couldn't hear the difference between his antagonistic calling of this game and how Romo handled himself last week, you must be deaf, and dumb. Aikman is as bad as anyone. I don't buy this "he can't be a homer" crap. His calling of this game and comments about the NFL and the Cowboys was so far off mark. How he can show himself at any Cowboy function from here on out is beyond me. I think the multiple concussions are taking a toll on him.

You guys hear what you want to hear. He's effusive about the Cowboys.

I mean at one point, after we were stumbling to move the ball, he was saying things like it was bad the Falcons were giving the Cowboys too many chances given the Cowboys "explosive" offense. He gushed about Prescott. He actually was trying to make it seem like Heath was a really good player.

Nothing was more comical than when that Falcons player hit Jaylon with a clear 2 hand shove in the back and Aikman said "aw shucks, I don't know if I like that call"

And he also questioned calls that went against us too.

The beauty of this thread is that you can see more people are actually more upset with Aikman than they are with the fact we have a mediocre head coach, a front office that continue to botch FA, a team that seems to be trending towards another missed playoff season, etc.

Now that's funny.

That did annoy me. They don’t need to voice their opinion on everything.
His comment about what Jerry is doing is "not good for the league" is really what I was referring to. It has no relevance to the actual game being played on the field..AT ALL. Like Costas soapboxing about gun control(or pick a non-football topic) for instance. These guys think they are more than they really are. It's not a talk show. It's a freakin football game. Most people watch games to get away from this type of crap.

To expect Aikman to not criticize the play on the field would be just stupid. We did NOTHING to garner any positive comments and trying to slant things that way would be an obvious homerism. You cannot defend the indefensible...just to be clear. There's actually quite a bit that could have been said like "how about some help at LT", or "how about a screen to keep him honest", or "why not keep the 3 TE set going...it worked until they stopped trying it". Total aside comment...this staff has to go.

Yeah, Chrissy is going to have a field day with this team next Sunday night. If I watch, I need to find it on the radio and kill the TV sound.

His giggling like a school girl every time the Cowboys make a mistake is a little annoying, but we're stuck with Troy and Buck. They're the #1 broadcasters at Fox and the Cowboys are the #1 draw.
Inside, Aikman is as disgusted as we are. He has to disguise it differently due to his profession.

Why shouldn't Aikman have an opinion on what Jerry is doing? Frankly, I think the longer this goes on, Jerry is going to look more and more petty in this. I think the NFL is a crap show but at some point you bite the bullet and just move on.

Further disappointing is that Jerry seems more hellbent on fighting with Blank, Goodell and other owners than he does of actually fixing his failing franchise on the field. If only he showed this kind of passion with regards to the failures of his 3rd son, Jason Garrett.

You(not you) become numb after 20+ years of it. You cannot be a fan of this team for the past 20-40 years and not have total disgust...that's a given and needs no mentioning...it's there, and has been with no end in sight. How one(owner) watches this unfold and not ask ***, is beyond me. But, since he's intimately involved, if not the key perpetrator, in what we have been thru for 20+ years...doubtful much will change.

Aikman paid his dues.
He has 3 Super Bowl rings.
He is neither a homer nor a one-team critic.
He knows the ups and downs of winning and losing.

The same people here who don't give Aikman credit for much are the same ones tossing flowers in Romo's path.

To put it in perspective:

Aikman: 3 Super Bowl rings
11 playoffs wins as QB

Romo: Zero Super Bowl appearances
2 playoffs wins as QB

Stats can be brutal.
One is a franchise success. The other our biggest postseason flop as a career starter.

Aikman has earned the right to make his observations, pro-Cowboys or otherwise.

AIkman is great in the booth. You want him to pull out Cowboys Pom-poms????
It’s still too early for me to judge Romo in the booth, his voice is a major annoyance I’m trying to look past....
Lol, glad I'm not the only one. The scratchiness 30 year smoker voice is hard for me to get past but I do enjoy his insight. Can't stand Gruden either due to his voice. Just pet peeves.

Key point here...failing franchise? In who's eyes? Maybe the fans(I know I hate this) but his bankers sure love it. I wonder if he's more interested in seeing the financial report rather than the stat sheets from the game...lol. Can't make this stuff up.

I can see that but each season is a new one and another season of ineptitude still makes it tough for me to care about what the announcers are saying about us........... especially when they probably aren't wrong.

Failing in the sense that he's not winning squat on the field.

He very well may be more interested in the financial report but something tells me he still wants to win. He just is clueless or arrogant about how to do it.

Dumb. Aikman calls it like he sees it. Sometimes he sees it differently from Cowboys homers and it makes them mad. Oh well.

He's harder on us (generally) but we also sucked yesterday. Almost worst example to use. I just find him bland for the most part but LOVED him as a player. Romo is a breath of fresh air, it's like a legend at a sports bar giving his opinion and it feels sincere, knowledgeable, and unfiltered . Wish we could switch commentator teams; AFC top team for NFC, etc. The rest of CBS will put you to sleep.

Do I think Aikman sometimes tries too hard to be “fair” and hide cowboys bias? Yes.

But it’s obvious that Aikman wants Dallas to succeed. Do you guys not remember him calling games last year for the cowboys? Or in 2014? You know, the seasons they actually played good football?

If Dallas is playing well, he points it out repeatedly. He praised Zeke and Dak and the rest of the team over and over again last year.

The team stunk yesterday. Do we really expect him to put lipstick on a pig?
