Every time this topic gets brought up, I have the same response, experiencing the same broadcast that the people complaining did: I could not disagree more.

Aikman paid his dues.
He has 3 Super Bowl rings.
He is neither a homer nor a one-team critic.
He knows the ups and downs of winning and losing.

The same people here who don't give Aikman credit for much are the same ones tossing flowers in Romo's path.

To put it in perspective:

Aikman: 3 Super Bowl rings
11 playoffs wins as QB

Romo: Zero Super Bowl appearances
2 playoffs wins as QB

Stats can be brutal.
One is a franchise success. The other our biggest postseason flop as a career starter.

Aikman has earned the right to make his observations, pro-Cowboys or otherwise.

never miss a chance to bash Romo do you? You must really HATE it that Romo is already considered by many better than Aikman in the booth.

In the beginning of the game he's was singing all the praises of Dak, the CB who made the int, and a couple other praises. As the game went on, he called it as he saw it. I like Aikman, always have as do many eagles fans. And the one time I've seen Romo, I like him too. He's very knowledgeable. I find it interesting that some Cowboy fans would want him to be a little more "homeristic" The guy won your last 3 SBs. I would think you would be proud of the him being a #1 and remaining objective.

The fact that there are Cowboys fans dissing Aikman for not being a total homer when his job is to provide honest commentary tells you a lot about the state of our society and culture right now.

I would be disappointed in Aikman if he was the homer some on here want him to be.
Keep calling it as you see it Troy, don't change a thing.

My only complaint is with Aikman, in the past, he seemed to go out of his way to not sound like a homer. So this made him seem like a hater. I do not think this was intentional, but just came off that way. Now just used to it. Buck annoys me more than Aikman.

When he is on local station The Ticket on his weekly show he comes across as wanting us to do well, but he is also honest in his opinions.
local / national, big difference. And I am ok with that.

Last week in the win against KC, he was actually sounding more like a homer probably to KC fans. I bet they were calling him a homer.
We got a beat down, and some of his comments and his laughing piassed me off a bit, but also didn't bother me either, I just shrugged it off after I thought about it for a little bit.

I missed a chance the other day when QB's INT rates were discussed.
As to broadcasting, not an aficionado of styles or knowledgeable on gsab. As you are.

Troy is embarrassed of the Cowboy fan base and likes to poke a stick at it. Can you blame him?

I love Aikman as a commentator. It feels to like he's called a sellout if he's not obviously pro-Cowboys; but I like objectivity in my commentary.

Seriously. This is what people wanna complain about?
Ffs . We stunk up the joint yesterday. Our coaches got outcoached. Our players got outplayed. Our front office looked dumbfounded (like rhats not usual) .
And yet we think Troy, a Cowboys legend, should be drinking the koolaid.
Good Christ...

Troy didn't drink Kool Aid when he played for the star. I'm not sure what these guys want now and days.

Because its so much worse than what fan bases? The Eagles?

We have the most unknowledgeable fan base in all of professional sports, including soccer. It comes with the huge following, I suppose.

Eagles fans, though this is ugly to say, are just derelicts and losers. Life has kicked them in the teeth and won't stop kicking.

Troy should thank the cowboys every day for the life he has.... a dude who prbly would have been in and out of the league if he landed on a ****** or average team instead he was graced with the best line of his era, RB, recieving core and a defense that would bail them out if they managed to blow that

Oh and got a sweet gig doing commentary being the "QB of the cowboys"
