There are only two possible options here. 1) Aikman made a statement in support of Jimmy's Statement. 2) Aikman made a statement to contradict Jimmy's Statement. Why did Aikman say what he said? Did anyone else find Aikman's playcalling annoying today? He sounded like a Commanders homer. I mean how many times did he bring up how poorly the cowboys looked in the last few games? I felt like some ES members were in the announcing booth today. *G*

I did not think that was the case. The skins made more plays than we did and thus any announcers is going to comment on the how well a team is playing. You may as well stop expecting Troy to sound like a member of the Cowboys broadcast team that is not his job. His job is to comment on the game and given our poor play there was not much Troy could say about the Cowboys.

The best in the business? John Madden is the best in the business. The Fox A Team is a joke. The quality of announcers in the league is not what it was in years past. Not only does Aikman have people complaining about him on Eagles, Giants, Commanders and other boards, he has people complaining about him on Cowboys boards, on Sports Radio in Dallas, and when there is a big crowd watching Cowboys games. Funny how someone can be the best, with that many people not thinking so. I don't see people complain like that about Madden. I don't see Aikman with his own football game franchise.

This is just a matter of opinion. FOX clearly like Troy as part of the #1 crew and while I don't agree with every single statement Troy makes or sit at the edge of my seat for his next comment I think he does a good job.

i think aikman *is* unbiased and it upsets some fans. period. they want a cheerleader and only fluffy things said about the boys. say something critical but true, it's a crime.

Assuming that he just threw that out at Random, with no analysis, then that is pretty bad for someone who's supposed to be a sports analyst. It's also pretty bad when you throw statements out there that can be misinterpreted. I mean it's not like I'm the only one who thought he was getting behind that statement at that point.

It's obvious some people here would love to have Cowboy games announced much like the announcers for the Commanders on Sirius radio...Sam Huff and Sonny Jurgenson.

On the Moss non- catch:

Sonny: That was a great catch.

Sam: I think the ball may have hit the ground.

Sonny: I don't think it did and it's ridiculous for the Cowboys to challenge it.

Sam: Well the replay shows the ball hitting the ground.

Sonny: OK, well it did hit the ground but it looked like a pretty good catch to me, they should have given it to him.

OK...so you're not the only one that misinterpreted it.

I had no problem understanding it at all...he put 2 lines of thought out there, leaving it up to the viewer as to which point they would embrace.

whah, whah, whah. Of course he's going to say that...isn't just about every other sports analyst saying that? (Sorry, but Mickey Spagnola doesn't count). And you know whyyyyy they're saying that? Because IT'S FRIGGIN TRUE!

Don't expect Troy to bring a skirt and pom-poms into the broadcast booth just because it's how some of you spend your lives.

They continue to make him the #1 because they feel he does the best job which is why he still has the #1 job on FOX. I don't care why they hired him to start with the fact he remains as the #1 crew says it all. If you don't like him fine this is purely each person’s opinion but for goodness sakes people complain about every single crew covering the games so I take most of this with a grain of salt to begin with.

Aikman is hostage to his Anti-Cowboys rhetoric. I think if Joe would chill on that crap, Aikman would have a chance to be more balanced in his commentary.
