Hmmm a little bit washed up, but would be decent as a back up, better than Dan Connor.

Hawk is done I think. He will probably get a gig somewhere and he could be a nice sub for a season or two but not at the price he might demand.

I remember several draft gurus saying that Bobby Carpenter would be a better pro than Hawk.

Hawk has over 900 tackles, 19 sacks, and 9 ints
Carpenter had 167 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 1 int.

I don't recall that, but I do remember people raving about AJ Hawk. Personally, I never thought he lived up to his hype.

This may be true but for a inside LB drafted 6th overall he was a disappointment. He's never been anything but competent.

He was beyond incredible at Ohio State -- for whatever reason that guy never showed up in the NFL.

have always believed that Carpenter and Hawk working together made them both look a lot better then they actually were.

100% agree.
I've thought the exact same thing.

I thought it was more a product of the Big 10 having bad offenses at the time. I was not impressed with either guy while they were at OSU and did not understand why they were both rated as 1st rounders before that 2006 NFL draft.

Who was the old linebacker Parcells revived? Can't remember his name. Maybe a change of scenery for cheap might be worth it for Hawk.

Intriguing name to hit the market

He sealed his fate in the Seattle game when he let a sprinting Seahawk run right past him on the fake field goal.

Hey Hawk, there's a reason the guy is running full speed by you on a field goal !!! He just completely ignores him.

I remember Parcells over reaching on that pick..... Knew the father?

Boy did Parcells screw us with that pick and I liked Parcells. That draft I was all down for Lawson.

I saw AJ Hawk at my friends house a few weeks back and talked to him for about 30 minutes about the possibility of coming to Dallas this season. Up until I realized that it was actually Clay Matthews I was talking to. And he was a Fathead.

Nice guy. Pretty tight-lipped, though.
