I saw AJ Hawk at my friends house a few weeks back and talked to him for about 30 minutes about the possibility of coming to Dallas this season. Up until I realized that it was actually Clay Matthews I was talking to. And he was a Fathead.

Nice guy. Pretty tight-lipped, though.

Look at you with a sense of humor.:lmao:

Boy did Parcells screw us with that pick and I liked Parcells. That draft I was all down for Lawson.

Yeah. Lawson. A guy who played the same spot as Ware and clearly didn't project to playing the other side. Yeah. That would have been a great pick. You do know that Ware pretty much played every snap for us back then, right?

I remember Parcells over reaching on that pick..... Knew the father?

urban myth that BP reached. Carpenter had been projected to be a mid to late 1st round pick. And the record of sons of former players is quite good overall.

Remember this was before we knew if Greg Ellis could succesffully make the switch to OLB. Carpenter was thought to be a good pass rusher and all around solid LB.

It was thought to be a SAFE pick. Sometimes they are; sometimes they are not.

At least Lawson was a legitimate nfl player. Carpenter couldn't tackle.

Your right but he was friends with his dad.

That's certainly true. And everything anyone would know about his dad would have suggested that he'd be a really good player. Rob Carpenter was a very tough player.

Yup and like just about every player drafted, it's a craps shoot.

Unheralded athlete most of his college career...
Son of...
Played with AJ Hawk

Makes sense now?

I am increasingly convinced that you know absolutely nothing.

If this were correct, why on earth would Parcells have BENCHED the dude at the outset of his rookie season and basically buried him on the depth chart?

So u r saying that Lawson would have been as bad a pik as Carpenter? Tough to imagine that one. 4.43 40 at 6'5" 247, if he could have put on weight he may have made a nice DE. Anyway, this is all about Carpenter...We would have been no worse with Lawson and hey Im just an armchair scout working for $1.389/hr doing this. Parcells and scouts salaries was what to pull off that #1 pick of Carpenter?

as usual you are wrong. But then you must be used to it by now.

And yet. The result = I'm right.

Wonder if Hawk got as much grief from GB for being a 5th overall pick, and to some didn't live up to it, as our fans give Mo Claiborne......ducks....

Really? Manny Lawson who still plays at 240? Manny Lawson whose best season featured 6.5 sacks (2.5 more than his next best season).

Yeah, that'd be a great pick.

Carpenter was a consensus top 20 pick. This has nothing to do with Parcells.

And the post = You have no clue

We tell you that you don't know anything because it is obvious. I swear, I never agree with Burmashave. Yet even he can see your foolishness.
