R2A was there first.

No I don't want him, when the Raiders don't want someone it speaks volumes.

Greg Ellis is done. Sign him to a 1-day contract so he can retire a Cowboy.

What?

They gave up a 2011 first for Seymour in a trade. They signed Greg Ellis after we CUT him.

Not sure what your point is.

Keep him the heck out of our locker room.

He was as bad as Owens, imo.

I know he isn't coming back, but it feels good to say it.

I don't like Ellis.

He was over rated by many Dallas fans.

I would have booted him after that 2007 Giants debacle, because he was part of it on defense.

I once had a conversation with Greg years ago before a Cowboys game. It went something like this:

Greg, getting out of his parked car at Texas Stadium. Me, several beers deep pre-game tailgating.

Me - GREG! GREG!

Greg - Huh?

Eye contact made

Me - Kill them Greg! Kill'em all!!!

Greg - Uh, okay.

I'm sure he tells people of that encounter to this day.

I don't think I'd even grant him the satisfaction!

I just completely confused the two.

I hate the Pats. They get the Raiders pick next year. Watch it end up being top 5.

Filed to ESPN: Raiders waived WT Javon Walker and DE Greg Ellis. Talk about two moves that didn't work out. 8 minutes ago via UberTwitter
--------------------------

The Raiders are awesome!!!

What is their definition of "didn't work out"? He wasn't expected to go to Oakland and lead the league in sacks or anything. He went there and tied for the team league with 7 sacks. I think that is what was expected of him and exactly what he delivered. He wasn't signed to resurrect the franchise. It would take at least 20 new good players to do that.

The Raiders team and organization suck. Ellis is nothing special right now, but he would still be one of the Raiders better players. I think Ellis would make a good back up and insurance if a starter was lost for the season for several teams. I don't think Dallas needs to look to sign him, but I would not mind at all if he came back to get a few plays a game as a back up. Ware in my opinion gets a bit overworked. Dallas doesn't need Ellis, but they do need someone to step up to give Ware a break from time to time.

Sounds like a plan. He deserves that much but not any more.

No. Having him as a backup would be a progress stopper.

They do it right. You don't see them going and paying crazy contracts for the Jared Gaithers of the world.

There's no way Greg Ellis would come back, nor would the Cowboys want him back, especially after all that talk about Ware "hiding" on the sidelines :laugh2:

Ellis kind of wore out his welcome here. I'm surprised the Raiders are getting rid of him. It's not like their talent cup runneth over. Oh well, thanks for the memories Greg--at least you tried and were a solid player. That's a lot more than can be said of some of his campo-era teammates.
