Al Michaels?

Quick question *** is up with everyone calling the giants.....
The new york "football" giants???

It goes back to when New York had a Giants baseball team. The baseball team moved to San Francisco in 1958.

To say Al Michaels is a Cowboys hater is preposterous. Frankly, I think he had a bad game. Going back and listening to the highlights, he rarely got excited. It was like listening to Keith Jackson, or at least the Madden video game version of Al Michaels.

I thought this was the issue, too. Frankly, I thought he sounded a little bored. Let's face it, he's long in the tooth and has done a zillion of these games by now, so maybe the excitement just isn't there anymore.

Of course Buck is the same way on Fox, though that's more that he's trying to be "cool" and football isn't his favorite sport. That plus the lead game for the network has more ads and 100 promos of their own shows to work in, and it's no wonder a lot of people prefer the second groups like the Moose/Albert/Sirigusa combo.

He seems unbiased to me. He and Collinsworth are the best duo in broadcasting.

Agreed, and I would place Aikman and whoever he's paired with as a close #2.

Michaels isn't exactly a subject matter expert but he does a good play by play and keeps the conversation semi-interesting. The few digs he gives the Cowboys are largely deserved, this team has been sub-par for a long time. If the Cowboys can keep this up I suspect Al will be a lot more complimentary the next time around.

I've never been a fan of Al Michaels but he seemed particularly bored with the game for the most part, like you said, as if he's done it a zillion times.

While he may like Jerry Jones he has always been negative towards the Cowboys as far back as I can remember ( and that's a LONG time) very rarely giving them any credit for beating another team. But maybe that's just my perception of his comments.

He's a notorius gambler, I think he had the Giants -3.5. Dumb arse.

Ha! That would explain a lot, nothing like commenting on the game you bet $5,000 on and the freaking Cowboys are ruining it all. :)

Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson. I could listen to those dudes describe grass growing for three hours.
That duo sucks. Only thing that matters to those two are the SEC for obvious reasons. I like Chris Collingsworth. He piles on the Cowboys when the Cowboys do stupid things. But he is quick to praise the Cowboys when we do something great. I know he likes Romo alot.

After watching the guys on NFL Network, Al Michaels doesn't seem that bad. Those guys are always down on the Cowboys. Michael Irvin is the only one that picked the 'Boys to win Wednesday night.

Yep, between the various networks, Michael and LT were the only two I saw pulling for Dallas. :bang2:

He and NBC are the reason I know listen only to SiriusXM online. Brad and Babe all the way!!

Where at on XM?

Michael's has been unfavorable towards the Cowboys, IMO, for some time. I have watched him for years and agree that he is no fan of the Cowboys.

What Cowboys deserve to "favorable" commentating? Michaels pumps up the guys who are big time performers and mostly ignores people that don't. He's not blowing smoke up Dez so maybe that comes off as unfavorable, but he's always positive on Ware and usually positive on "Rrromo".

He did seem kinda tired. Maybe he was just sick or something.

This is untrue - all of the games have the same exact commercial payload.

I finally had a chance to rewatch the game, it sure seemed like every remark made by Al about the Cowboys ended with had a negative remark. Is he a tool or what????????:starspin

Hmmmmm.... I didnt pick up on that. Joe Buck is the guy who always seems to take joy when Dallas is struggling, you can hear it in his voice.

No, That's not accurate IMO. I'm not asking Michaels to be a happy fan. I'm just saying that he is too often unfavorable in his opinions. You don't have to agree but it doesn't mean the opinion is wrong. I also don't agree that he is always positive on Romo. In fact, very much the opposite.

This -- although I do enjoy Kenny, Moose, and Goose.
